Apartments in Santana

Great location in the middle of Santana. A small room with an enormous balcony available. Great to sit outside and watch the mountains. Santana is a good starting points for hikes along the levada's in the neighbourhoud. Clean and fresh apartment.

The hosts were so kind, communicative, and welcoming! After not being able to land at FNC due to a wind advisory and having to rebook our flight to the next day, they were so accommodating and understanding. The property was beautiful, with an amazing view from the balcony, and the rooms were clean and spacious. We only wish we could have stayed longer — what a lovely welcome to our trip to Madeira!

The apartment is spacious, the kitchen is well appointed, and there is comfortable seating for up to 4 people inside and out (more seating is available for larger parties). It was quiet at night, and the beds were quite comfortable. Excellent water pressure both bathroom showers. All three balconies provided beautiful views from sunrise to sunset. Signage and information in the apartment was detailed and helpful. The apartment was fastidiously clean, and we were pleased to find a washing machine available with plenty of clothespins to hang out items for drying. The location is very good—close (walking distance) to shops, restaurants, local attractions, and a grocery store. The airport is 25 minutes away (less if you drive like a local); Funchal, São Vicente, Pico Areeiro, Pico Ruivo, and São Laurenço can all be reached in about 45 minutes or even fewer; other worthy spots (Fanal Forest, Paul do Serra, several levada walks including 25 Fontes) are all pretty much 1.5 hours away by car. Santana in general has a very pleasant, easy-going, community vibe—local favorite Faial beach was a highlight and only 10-15 minutes from the accommodation! Finally, our host Maria was warm, welcoming, and friendly. She gave great tips tailored to our needs, she was very accommodating of our schedule and preferences, and we found her to be available without being intrusive. We were really happy we based ourselves here for our first visit to Madeira. We would stay at Maria’s Pérola Dourada again, and highly recommend this spot to others. Thank you Maria for setting us up for an unforgettable trip!

Everything was amazing. So clean, everything you need. Perfect to start the PR1.1 the next morning, Lovely snack bar with some essentials nearby. This was honestly one of the best apartments I've stayed in. Bed was so comfortable and it felt like home. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

The location and the view were beautiful. The apartment was clean and cozy and the outside space was wonderful. We were able to enjoy dinner outside. The host was very helpful and kind. It was a great experience.

Nice big clean apartment with a lot of facilities and space. There were some coffee capsuls, sugar, a bottle water and tee bags as well in the kitchen. We could used a washing machine as well. The Internet worked very well.

We really enjoyed our stay at the studio. The hosts Sandra and Olides are very welcoming and the check in with the key box worked smoothly. There is plenty of space to store your belongings during your stay. The entire studio was spotlessly clean. The terrace with the view on the surrounding farmland is very nice, especially during good weather. A supermarket is close in 6 min. driving. Overall a great place to stay if you feel closer to nature than to city life. The place is a good starting point for exploring the northern part of the island.

The large hot shower with good water pressure and king sized bed was definitely a plus! Large terrasse with wonderful views with close proximity to Pico Ruivo and Machico. Sounds of morning farm animals in the distance was perfect too!
