Our property is located in the North Coast of the Island, in a very special village called Arco de São Jorge, which belongs to Santana. The village is quiet and friendly, contrasting with the more busy South Coast of Madeira. It takes around 30 minutes by car from the aeroport to reach the place. We have 2 houses in the property. The smaller one has 2 big bedrooms, one in the ground floor and another in the first floor. Both with private bathrooms and sofa-bed. You´ll find a spaceful fully equipped kitchen, perfect for a familiar meal, and a big area outside with vineyards. The other house in the property is bigger and was recently restored, having 3 independent 1 bedroom apartments, all with private bathroom and kitchenette.
My name is Edgar, I´m 31 years old, and I´m currently working in Algarve as a family doctor, so my parents Abel and Teresa are the ones who prepare the accommodation and welcome our guests. They are very friendly and easy to communicate with and are available in case you need their help. My parents live in Funchal, where we have another accommodation called "Quinta do Bom Sucesso". My family spent many weekends in this property while I grew up, serving as a countryside getaway to our city life.
Santana is probably one of the greenest places in Madeira. Therefore, there are many Levadas walks in case you want to visit and get to know a little bit of Madeira primitive forest, Laurissilva, which has been classified as a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. "Levada do Caldeirão Verde" and "Levada do Rei" are two examples of Levadas walks. While driving to Arco de São Jorge from Funchal Airport, you´ll find a supermarket just close to the main road in Santana (called 'Continente Santana'). There is also a small grocery store you can find near the house by walking 100 meters up the street, located close to the village church. At the end of the street, in the direction of the sea, you´ll find a beautiful panoramic oceanview spot, located just near a small football field.
