Beach Hotels in San Pedrillo

We mostly wanted to see the release of the baby turtles, and the staff knew exactly where we should go and at what time. Rooms were nice with a strong fan and bug net. No wifi from the room, but good wifi in common spaces. Food was great with wine for a good price. Great views and right along the beach

This property has a wonderful history. It is a family run property and we were welcomed with open arms. Every morning we would wake up to the sounds of Toucans, Macaws and hundreds of other exotic birds. We even had a Tapir visit our place one evening. The drinks were amazing and the food was good and very reasonably priced. The beach was amazing and swimming was great. If you want something very special and romantic, this is heaven!!!

Great location to allow you explore the wilderness of nature while enjoying the modern comfort. The hosts are a very friendly and helpful couple. When we were leaving, I said to Nony, I don’t want to return the key to you because my heart wants to stay here.

We really loved the place, The grounds were gorgeous with beautiful and differing differing views from all over the large campus. The rock outcropping all along the waterfront was particularly beautiful. Each cabin was nicely designed and with wonderful architectural elements; stone bathrooms, as well. There were walking trails in all directions and many animals and birds to view. The entire campus was huge and gorgeous and very well-taken care of and it included orchards and a greenhouse. It was a truly gorgeous destination!!! The mother and original owner, (living on the premises) was wonderfully friendly; very welcoming, interesting and lovely in every way. She walked often with me, told the history and stories about the place. And, she had a live-in cat that was found in the National Park. Loved visiting the amazingly beautiful Tortoiseshell cat. Wonderful staff, Actually they were beyond wonderful and helpful in every possible way. Jean Carlos and Everlast (or a name close to that) were unbelievably wonderful and went beyond their job duties; so helpful and friendly and running to us to tell about particular animals spotted.

Lucas greeted my family on the beach upon our arrival from a tour of Corcovado National Park and quickly arranged for a car to drive us the short distance to Bella Vista. He and his extended family were welcoming and cooked hearty meals during our stay. A highlight was his demonstration of making coconut cookies from scratch. Delicious!

Everything was perfect, especially Pincho & Annia! We recommend you put Poor Man’s Paradise on your bucket list. A trip here will create memories that will last forever!

I liked everything the food and the attention

The lodge is quite new and we found the rooms clean and well appointed. The location is great for those wanting to be nestled in the jungle. The breakfasts and dinners were varied and delicious. The homemade bread was wonderful. Most importantly, the staff were warm , welcoming, and fun. Thank you Annie, Anita and Orlando (the self professed “skinny, handsome one”).

The tranquility and the view are great. It is not too luxurious but still comfortable enough to feel just right for what we are looking for. The rustic feeling added to our enjoyment. The fact that almost all activities could be done by catching a boat on the sea in the morning was a great plus.

Our stay at this eco lodge was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the natural beauty and peaceful energy of the property. Everything, from the lush gardens to the sustainable design, reflects a deep respect for nature and a genuine commitment to eco living. We learned so much during our time here about sustainability, local plants, and how to live in greater harmony with the environment. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, always happy to share insights about their eco practices and the surrounding area. The property itself is stunning, immaculate, vibrant, and full of life. Every corner invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with nature. It was a beautiful reminder of how simplicity and care for the earth can create such abundance and peace. We left feeling inspired, refreshed, and deeply grateful for the experience. Highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking to reconnect with nature and learn more about sustainable living.

This house was so amazing. Family run properties, everyone was very helpful for all our needs. Susan made arrangements for our excisions and both her and Carlos responded right away to anything we asked. The house was properly maintained and we had everything needed for our stay. If you’re looking for a piece of paradise that’s off the beaten track but a 2 minute walk from a beautiful swimming beach, this is it. We can’t rave enough about this fantastic place. The room is very clean (and cleaned daily), the fan works great, the bed is super comfy and sheets and towels are changed frequently. There were even fresh flowers in our room and welcome coconut drinks when we arrived. The patio, which looks out onto the beautiful garden, is very tranquil and we saw a sloth, an ant eater and tons of birds, including toucans and hummingbirds right from the deck. The hosts, Rafa and Esther, are super helpful and assisted with ferry transportation from Sierpe, transporting our bags from the boat to the accommodation and did our laundry for a reasonable fee. Ester is a fantastic cook and every morning we had a different, delicious breakfast (included with stay). There is an onsite soda (simple restaurant) and everything we tried was very tasty. The ceviche was fresh and delicious and we tried every type of Casado (typical meal of rice, beans, salad and your choice of protein) as well as the tacos and hamburgers and found all to be well presented and yummy. This small, family run ecolodge is about an hour walk from Drake Bay along a beautiful, well marked trail. You can arrange for tours (dolphin, Cano Island snorkelling, Corcovado) to pick you up at one of the beaches close by so you don’t have to worry about not being in town. We loved our jungle experience so much we originally booked 5 nights but stayed 11!

Spectacular setting, the kindest family possible, excellent food, and attentiveness from Christian made this a special stay. A real family experience in the middle of nature with empty beaches and world class nature and hiking trails on your doorstep. And the feeling that you were with a real Costa Rica family, spending money where it should go.

We loved everything about Copa De Arbol. The property was beautiful, the beach was amazing, and the hiking trail was great. The staff were also so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We would love to return!
