This was the ultimate authentic Finnish experience where we were treated more like family than guests. The cottage is absolutely beautiful in a stunning location. We had our privacy, but our hosts were so friendly and accommodating to our every wish. The sauna is a must! The staff were phenomenal. If you needed anything the owner would go out of his way to make sure you were comfortable. They had a ton of free gear for you to borrow and overall I’d recommend this place to anyone. I personally solo travelled here and felt so comfortable.

The house is VERY well equipped. It even has a baby security gate at the stairs Quiet, beautiful surroundings, easy to see the aurora from the berm beside the river. Lovely fireplace with massive thermal inertia. High quality sauna.

This place is beautiful. We spend a week there and enjoyed every minute of it. The cottage is located in a calm environment directly at the river. It is easily accessible by car and an excellent starting point for expeditions. Ivalo is only a few minutes by car and from there you can pretty much go in any direction. As we visited in winter we especially enjoyed watching the northern lights while cooling down on the deck after using the sauna or settling down in front of the fire place after a cold day of outdoor activities. The entire cottage was clean, tidy and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed from comprehensive kitchen equipment to movies and games. The owner were helpful and super responsive and took very little time to reply to our messages.

We felt right at home in the house. There is a lot of space, the sauna is great and the position near the lake is dreamy. We saw a deer walking past the windows and many Northern Lights. We had a rental car, so it was very simple to go to the supermarket or activities around Ivalo.
