simple yet cosy room, amazing host, great location

I really loved the peaceful atmosphere in the garden! The bed was comfortable and the location in Madiha was perfectly close to the beaches and nice restaurants.

This location can't be better than whatever you will find in Mirissa.... Best ever in the place... Can spend all day and night just in the balcony.... Private beach... Have breakfast/ lunch/ dinner sitting just beside sea beach.... Enjoy the mesmerizing sound of the wave all day and night....

Food, room and all staff members very good service

Great location on the beach with a nice restaurant / bar by the Ocean. The pool was large and quiet. The family room we booked was spacious with two single beds and a double. The surrounding area felt safe and it was nice to stroll around to the other restaurants in the evenings. The manager was friendly and helped up with whatever we needed. Food was great and the banana pancakes for breakfast were perfect! We’d stay here again and could have stayed longer.

La Polena is a special place. A quiet accommodation where to enjoy the beautiful ocean, through the beach lying directly in front of their garden. Our room was very spacious and the view was just amazing. The staff is extremely helpful and kind. You will enjoy every minute of it!

Staff was wonderful: owners Indika and Fiona, Darshena at the front desk, Kará, Rehán and Dula in the restaurant. Location was fantastic: breathtaking views, restaurant right on the water, proximity to sea turtles you can snorkel with, short taxi ride to Mirissa (whale watching, nice beach for swimming) and Weligama (surf lessons) Restaurant: excellent service and food/drink quality. My kids and I ate there daily and loved all the food and drinks. Menu has lots of variety for kids and adults to enjoy. No negative health issues. Service was top notch. Pool: clean, peaceful, and comfortable Rooms: lots of space, we had a full apartment with 2 beds/baths and kitchen. AC in bedrooms worked great. Mosquito nets on beds gave us peace of mind. We didn’t have many mosquitos in the apartment anyway, but it was nice to have the nets. Big, beautiful windows and doors to enjoy natural light and views of the tropical foliage that surrounds. Beds were very comfortable. We recommend the hotel offers blankets for guests who want them. They only had sheets available. Bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. Hot/cold showers, nice sinks were luxurious. Kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. I cooked many meals during our stay and the kitchen had everything I needed. Stove has 3 gas burners and 1 electric burner. Cargills grocery store is a 15 minute walk away and has everything I needed, even a pharmacy. The friendliness and responsiveness of the staff was the best part of our stay. Many thanks to Darshena, Kará, Dula, Rehán, Indika and Fiona.

This is a lovely place to stay in Matara. Very close to the local Midiha beach and one km from the Polhena beach. Both beaches are good. The room is basic but very comfortable and clean and bathroom was also very clean. The family that runs the place is a very nice, warm-hearted, hardworking family. They also serve good breakfast (not included in the tariff). They arranged for our transportation while we were there and a car to take us to our next destination - all at competent prices. It is very close to some really great restaurants by the ocean. They have another guest house just opposite to theirs which has a swimming pool that we could use! We will definitely recommend to the place to everyone.

We loved our stay at Lakraj. The location is wonderful, easy walks to restaurants and The doctor's house. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our first room didn't have a TV so we were easily moved to a new room with wonderful sea and pool views 😀 We hired a scooter right across the road and they organized a driver for us for a safari tour at Udawalwe safari about an hour and half drive. The hotel pool was awesome, a natural sea pool. We saw turtles swimming right outside as well. All in all a wonderful experience

The property is amazing, feels like Maldives. The pool is huge and gorgeous to have a chilled day around it. We absolutely loved our stay here and fully relaxed. The owner and all the employees were very helpful. Thank you so much 💕

Had such an amazing stay here. The family host is very nice and breakfast is amazing. The room is very clean, and they constantly ask you if you need anything. Honestly would book this place again whenever I’m back in Madiha

We absolutely loved our stay! This is a family-run, newly built villa, and everything is incredibly clean, fresh, and spacious. Thilan and his family are the kindest hosts — they truly made us feel at home away from home. Sincere, friendly, and always smiling, their hospitality is outstanding and the service is amazing. There is a dedicated common terrace that can be used for yoga practice, which was a lovely bonus. The location is perfect — tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Mirissa, yet all the main destinations are easily accessible by a short walk or tuk-tuk ride. There are lots of cute cafés nearby. The Sri Lankan breakfast freshly prepared by Thilan’s wife is next level — hands down the best we had in Sri Lanka.
