Amazing, kind and always helpfull staff specially Anna :), great activities options, different launch options. Room was also magnificent and huge.

The personal is very friendly

ALL staff are absolutely delightful. Everyone made us truly welcome. Our room was spacious and clean. The Village and Reef Walk with James was really interesting and so worthwhile. The bar staff and chefs at the Beach Bar were great fun and the waitress and waiters in the restaurant were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, for anyone. The location was perfect, quiet and relaxing. A few local restaurants around the beach, we tried as many as possible, some in the village itself. Try them, Google maps will give locations, they may look quiet but every one we tried, the people were super friendly and interested in where you come from etc, food takes a little while, but everything is cooked to order. There are a few beach boys about but they are generally friendly.

The best place for relaxation in Matemwe, The staff were very welcoming and supportive specially the reception manager Mr Rashid Khamis, he made our stay perfect. The delicious breakfast experience on the infinity pool is unforgettable. Rooms were clean and neat and had large spaces with a breath taking view for the palms on the ocean. Rooms were almost separate and private with a lot of green areas around where we could see small antelopes and squirrels and they were very shy and cute. It was safe to stay there and walk around before night. At night it is dark and we needed guidance from locals and they were kind and supportive. Food and drinks: The breakfast was fabulous set menu with a lot of items and juices and fruits and the staff at breakfast are amazing. Lunch or dinner weren't the same level of breakfast but were good.

We were upgraded to a premium room which had a terrific view of the beach & ocean and a large balcony with lounge chairs. Our room was spacious with a comfortable large bed. The bathroom was a good size with 2 sinks. There were plenty of towels, both for the bath and the beach. We also greatly enjoyed the swimming pool. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The co-owner and manager kindly assisted us with booking a snorkel trip.

Villa Unaweza wasn't just a place to stay, it was an experience. It was a home away from home, filled with impeccable hospitality, thoughtful touches(surprised me with the best cake on my birthday), and unforgettable moments. If you're seeking a slice of paradise with a side of genuine human connection, look no further. Sylvia, Aga, Fau, Fridah, Felix and Denge made me feel truly welcomed and cared for.Also... if you're looking for some pampering, do not miss the massage and body scrub...it was the most blissfully indulgent hour of my entire trip!

It is in front of the beach ⛱️ 😎lot of sunbeds ,shadows, and trees, very clean. Good for rest. The food was very good. all employees were willing to help with any problem or question. Great place to stay.

Zoi Retreat Hotel is a hidden gem. My stay was nothing but WONDERFUL. The staff is amazing: warm, welcoming, and very attentive. From the moment I arrived, I felt cared for and at home. The room was beautifully decorated, very clean, and extremely comfortable, with thoughtful details throughout. The AC worked perfectly, the bed was great, and everything you need is provided. Parking felt safe, there was always electricity (even during local outages), and the Wi-Fi was consistently strong. I was able to monitor my emails easily and stay connected at all times. The beachfront setting is stunning, with umbrellas, lovely views, and the most peaceful sunrises. The pool is amazing, and the entire property feels cozy, serene, and private. Perfect for relaxing away from the crowds. The food tasted amazing and was clearly made with high-quality ingredients; the chef is excellent. The cocktails were great, and I got a massage that was incredible, I highly recommend you book one during your stay, you leave feeling like a new person. Later during my stay, the security team really stood out, they assisted me with a flat tire, which I appreciated. I drove to several other beaches around the island, but Matemwe felt more special and peaceful every time I came back. Zoi Retreat made the experience unforgettable and very special. I would return without hesitation and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zanzibar.

The gardens are an oasis of tranquility and the perfect backdrop to morning yoga with Maria. Delicious food. Short walk to a quiet beach but you'll find it hard to leave. Perfect hosts, perfect stay.

We loved the experience of staying in a boutique hotel - it truly felt like home after a few days! You leave your room and you reach the pool, the beach, and the restaurant in less than a minute. The rooms are comfy, clean, and nicely decorated. The pool is quite small, but serves the purpose. The location is ideal for a holiday by the sea, whereas all major day trips require at least a 75-minute drive from the hotel. On the other hand, Mnemba Island is just opposite the hotel. The staff are nice and always ready to offer a smile!

very chilled atmosphere, amazing food with unlimited breakfast orders (compared to many other 5* hotels, the food was really outstanding at bandas!!), staff was super nice and helpful. Our beach bungalow was so nice, we were able to hear the beach waves during the night!

Very well thought out property with everything you could possible need. Georgia and Daniel the owners are on sight to help you will anything that you need. The property in a 2min walk from what is probably one of my now favorite beaches in zanzibar. It's of the tourist track so nice a quiet but has a few other properties you can have meals at. The property can arrange everything that you need from transfers to tours. Highly recommend this property. The staff are some of the best trained staff I've met in Zanzibar. The restaurant food was really good and I actually had nearly all my meals there.

What an amazing time! Beautiful, clean, and peaceful in a location removed from the more tourist heavy areas of the island. Kasia and the staff were so lovely and were able to help arrange activities and day trips. Already dreaming of returning one day!

Had such a great time ; they helped my husband set up a great birthday dinner for me and they danced and brought out a cake with my name , it was wonderful . The location was so tropical and the staff is so friendly . Can’t wait to come back.

I have visited Zanzibar before and stayed at a few hotels (large and small) and this is by far my favorite hotel, my kids and I did not want to leave. It was a hidden gem! The staff were very friendly, the owners were always available and very sweet and kind, the food was the best in Zanzibar. It’s a very quiet and lovely getaway. The beach felt like a private beach away from the overbearing Masai and tourists. The hotel was very cozy, authentic and unique. The rooms were spacious, the balcony was stunning and watching the sunrise every day was beautiful, AC was working perfectly, rooms was always clean and they clean twice a day. If you want to relax.. this is the place to stay! The owners and staff quickly became our family. Thank you for the most beautiful stay, we will be back again! Wonderful service, room upgrades, great food

Nice barefoot experience walking distance to the beach. Breakfast was really nice and the staff are great and very welcoming. Facilities are new and private. Your own room and you’ll have the place to yourself. WiFi is good too.
