We really enjoyed our stay at Morika Villa. The view here is absolutely spectacular, especially during sunrise! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large bathrooms and a shared kitchen. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, always happy to assist with anything like renting a bike or organizing tours. The food at the restaurant was also good, with a variety of dishes to choose from.

It’s cozy and right in front of the beach. They have a restaurant with drinks and a decent menu with some specials, which luckily for us was lobster when we arrived. Big, fat, fresh lobster. Staff is kind and the rooms are super comfortable and well designed.

Pemimpi Sumba has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Lambatama. The hostel has both free WiFi and free private parking. À la carte and Asian breakfast options are available at the hostel.

It's a family-owned resort, stand right by the beach. Iwan, the manager of the resort, picked us up from the airport. He speaks English well and very friendly. So upon our arrival till departure, all the staffs there, Iwan, Orfi and Angel, were so helpful and tried to make our stay convenient, and to this, we may say they did a super job. 👏👏👏

What a wonderful destination. This was one of the highlights of our time in Indonesia. The hotel is gorgeous and the villas are large, cozy, nicely designed, with the ocean waves, creating a nice atmosphere. A nice terrace outside where we opted to have breakfast every morning. We used the private pool in our villa every day. We did not want to leave the room to explore the island at times. The staff in particular were incredible and they did their best to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Very avaible via Whatsapp for anything we needed. Always with a smile. It will stay with me for a long time. Their breakfast and dining in particular were a highlight :)

Mario is a nice eco-friendly resort. I first booked it because it's beach front and not far from the airport (20 minutes drive), so not expecting much, and it turns out to be a surprise: spacious, with miles of beach with clean white sand; room is beautiful but hard to photograph, so it's a lot nicer than the posted photos; staff is very professional and speaks perfect English; food and service are both great (especially the grilled chicken), and after staying in various places in Sumba for over a week now, I can say that Mario serves the best food with most reasonable price; also Starlink is now available in Sumba so internet is reliable. By being the first resort set up in Sumba, everything holds up very well, nothing fancy but very very comfortable, I certainly can feel a mood lift after our first night there.

My partner and I had the most wonderful 4 nights at Sumba Retreat right on Kerewe Beach. Firstly, we were so grateful to of been upgraded to the amazing bungalow right by the beach and it was so spacious, clean, comfortable and relaxing. Loved the outdoor bathroom! The staff here are some of the kindest people we met in Indonesia and always were smiling and happy to help. The location is divine too, right on the beach with a few other hotels around. The water buffalo and horses walk along the beach at certain times too. We spent a lot of time just chilling out here, but you can also walk or ride a bike to some nearby beaches. They also help to organise drivers for day trips - we loved stopping by the Weekuri Lagoon right after we were picked up from the airport. My partner also got a boat out to go surfing a few times. We definitely could've stayed here longer. Such a magical place!

Their warmth and sincerity made the stay feel personal and comfortable. The room was clean, well-maintained, and inviting, offering the perfect place to relax. In the evening, the pool area came alive with a vibrant atmosphere. There was an event taking place with many guests, creating an energetic yet enjoyable vibe. The pool activities truly felt like the heart of the resort—full of life and positive energy. I also appreciated the variety of activities available, such as horse riding and cycling, which added a unique charm and allowed guests to enjoy the natural beauty of Sumba in an active way. At night, I treated myself to a spa experience within the resort, which was incredibly relaxing and the perfect way to end the day after a lively evening. Although my stay was short, it was deeply satisfying. Kambaniru Beach Hotel & Resort offers a wonderful combination of comfort, vibrant atmosphere, and heartfelt service. I had to leave, but I will certainly return on my next visit. Highly recommended for anyone visiting East Sumba and looking for a resort with soul, warmth, and memorable experiences.
