From the moment we arrived, Manami-chan went the extra mile and made our stay truly memorable. Her home is uniquely attached to her family’s temple, which she lovingly cares for, and the atmosphere reflects her warm, gentle spirit. The decor is impeccable—calm, cozy, and soothing—so it feels like the house itself is Manami: thoughtful and kind. Every detail has been considered: a comfortable tatami bedroom with soft, plush mattress and linens, a full kitchen, washer & dryer, and even a little mini-spa corner to unwind. There are two toilets (a rare convenience in Japan) and the location is great for exploring. Manami helped us rent e-bikes and gave us wonderful day-trip plans and cultural insights we would never have discovered on our own. Staying here felt like touching the true spirit of old Japan while enjoying modern comforts. For us, it was a dream place. If you value kindness, authenticity, and quiet beauty, book Oteragoto—you’ll feel Manami’s heart in every corner. She truly deserves all the guests who will love this place as much as we did. 10/10. Great location right on the beach, and you can rent bikes from the front desk (sadly it was pouring rain while I was there). I enjoyed just sitting looking out at the water as the storm passed by. Nice onsen!
