Something better than this would be difficult to find. The cabin was perfect with everything that I could need. It was very spacious with a great sea view. Kitchen had all the utensils I could need from a water kettle for tea to a dishwasher. I travelled alone with the goal of disconnection and relaxation but there is enough space to a larger group of people. The location is perfect, the shop (ICA) is near and within walking distance from the pier where the ferry leaves you or a bust stop. Best of all, the location between Hönö and Öckero islands. This way one can go hiking north to Öckero and Hälsö one day and another day go south to hike around Hönö and Fotö.

Located in Vargön, just 12 miles from Vänersborg Train Station, Strandnära Stuga Vänersnäs has beachfront accommodations with free bikes, a garden, a private beach area and free WiFi.

The cottage is at a peaceful place on the edge of a horse farm, just a 5 minute walk from the lake. It had everything I needed and slept well there. In the morning, a deer came by, nibbling the plants behind the house.

This place was a very happy surprise in so many ways! We really did not know what to expect from a pirate-themed resort but we had a beautiful and very comfortable room. Mid-week and off-season, we had the whole resort practically to ourselves. It is situated on the water so we enjoyed a morning walk around the property. The breakfast buffet was fabulous! I can't imagine what the resort is like during the summer, it must be crazy busy with the amusement park. But if I lived near, I would definitely take my grandkids for a couple of days.
