This stay truly felt like a home away from home. The bed and bedding were unbelievably comfortable—better than my own—and the upstairs space was spotless, cosy, and gave me complete privacy. Chris was a wonderful host: friendly, polite, and attentive without ever intruding, which meant a lot as I was travelling alone. His love of cooking shines through in his generous breakfast menu and sharing a relaxed chat in the kitchen in the morning was a lovely way to start the day.

The kitchen is well equipped. There are sufficient bathrooms for the number of rooms. My room was spacious and comfortable, with more than enough room for 2 people to move around comfortably. The gardens are large but are obviously not a priority for the staff. There are a couple of coffee shops for breakfast less than 100m away. Parking on site was a huge bonus.

This is a cottage located at the back garden of my main house. It is furnished with all the amenities one expects to find. The location is good, in a quiet neighbourhood next to the Furness Park, within 15-20 mins' walk or two bus stops away from Blackburn station (eateries, etc), and a Woolworths and McDonalds at a similar distance in the opposite direction. Bus access to Box Hill and Monash University are also very easy and direct. The host was very prompt in dealing with all our requests (from extra linen to garbage disposal).
