GermanyWe had a wonderful stay at Playa Manglares! Its a very relaxed and quiet place where one can really destress from the world. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable big beds. The owner, Olga, is very friendly and helpful! The staff is also very friendly and cooks fantanstic food! Even some western dishes if you are missing them. They serve cocktails and will fry up your fish if you catch any ;)
As other reviews have noted: no there is no hot water, but its not really that cold and its very hot there all year, thus the water temperature was not an issue for us. Water shoes are a plus, since theres rocks in the water. However I forgot mine and it was doable.

United StatesThis beach club is an hour from Cartagena. Go by boat or car. If by car walk down to the beach then walk along the beach 3 KM or better take a water taxi for 15.000. I walked back and forth a few times and Mio Mio is one of the nicest hotels on the beach.
7 rooms. 2 are new and on 2nd floor w full ocean view.. All rooms have bathrooms. Conserve water. Staff is helpful and friendly but at times like most Latin American staff you need to be persistent in getting their attention.
Food was good by Colombian standards (Mexicans would just laugh) and beer was cold and available.
I heard at times they don't have water bc it's brought in by boat. When the sea is rough they can't get it. So use sparingly! Seriously super fast showers. Every drop is precious.
Day beds are comfy. Great little vibe. They've done a lot recently to improve so ignore old reviews.
I'd return!!!!

United StatesThe property itself is beautiful. My daughters said that it reminded them of the Encanto house but in the Caribbean. It was quaint, the beach was gorgeous and the views were like no other.
In addition, Manuel the property caretaker and family were so kind. Manuel and his wife took care of everything we needed. I couldn’t ask for more.

United StatesRafael and Sol we’re just wonderful. Tjhe proximity to the beach and ocean were great. The staff was so helpful. They helped us arrange transportation from the airport, including a van and taxi boat, as well as boat transportation the next day to enjoy the islands and go to our next hotel destination. So nice!

CanadaThe location is in playa tranquila, we taxi'd (use indriver or have the host help you with a taxi) from Manga in Cartagena for 71k COP (~1 hr drive). We walked from the parking lot along the beach for 20 mins to the Cabana where Manuel, the host, let us into our room hours early and prepared chairs and umbrellas for us. We were the only ones staying in one of the two rooms upstairs and it was great having hammocks and lounge chairs, amazing views and all to ourselves. I recommend swimming in the morning with a snorkel mask (he lent us some) before a lot of the fish hide from the boats!
The food was delicious (you must try the coconut rice), in large quanities and affordable. He also helps arrange tours like an evening bioluminescent plankton tour (takes about 1 hr and was ~35k cop per person) and an afternoon snorkeling 4 islands tour (90k per person). He also arranged a boat to take us straight from his place to Cartagena at the end of our stay (40k per person).
We had an amazing time there and would definitely go back!
