We have stayed in many places across the French Alps over the years, but Chambre d'Hôte La Barmaz in Combloux is one of the most charming and memorable we have encountered. From the moment we arrived, Gilles and Martine made us feel completely at home. We stayed in a triple room, travelling as a family with our teenage daughter, and the space was perfect for the three of us. Cosy and warm with wonderful Alpine character, it blended traditional charm with modern comforts. The bed was supremely comfortable and the shower hot and beautifully appointed — we slept wonderfully every night. Breakfast each morning was a real highlight — generous and genuinely filling. Exactly what you need before a long day on the slopes . One evening, Gilles prepared a wonderful fondue for guests. A convivial, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable occasion that perfectly captured the spirit of the place. The kind of evening you simply cannot plan for and will not easily forget. The quality of the accommodation is exceptional, but it is honestly surpassed by the warmth and generosity of your hosts. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and Gilles in particular has a natural gift for making guests feel genuinely cared for without it ever feeling forced or formal. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are visiting Combloux — ski season or otherwise — look no further. Merci infiniment, Gilles et Martine. À bientôt !

Fully renovated, everything felt brand new. Simple yet spotless room and comfortable bed and bathroom. Staff was super friendly, amazing breakfast. Location is ideal, with bus stops near to go into town and to all attractions nearby.

What a stunning view and location! The hosts, Edourd and Sandrine were so very kind and welcoming - now good friends! It was sort of in the middle of the Alps, but perfect for us. This is a true bed and breakfast and to our delight, we learned that we ate with the hosts on the morning. They are charming and fun so, while a surprise, it was enjoyable. While it seemed from the images that we would stay in the upstairs (with the white sofa area), however the hosts live in the upstairs. We did eat up there. The downstairs we plenty large for us and they let us stay and record our daughter's video auditions for a musical theater show back home. Also they found a few items we left behind and they quickly mailed them back to us in the States. We loved Edenblanc and will definitely return.
