Our stay in La Griffe was simply unforgettable. The location, atmosphere of the hotel and the town, walking access to the vineyards just few meters from the accommodation, care provided by the staff... La Griffe is also an excellent basepoint for discovering the Alsace region - part of the famous "La Route des Vins"; Alsace Wine Route.

This chateau dating back from the 16th century, is surrounded by a park and located 25 mi southwest of Strasbourg. It offers spacious individually decorated suites and a terrace.

Breakfast was excellent. In all our years of traveling, I never had a Hostess make me freshly pressed orange juice and be SO concerned that everything which could please us be offered. She offered Homemade bread, a beautiful Selection of local cheeses, lovely hot scrambled eggs, etc. etc. The location for a concert in the local Abbey was perfect, private parking. Peace and quiet. Madame Corinne went out of her way to try and be helpful and make our experience a good one. The house has great potential and with a few improvements, which I discussed with her, I think it could be totally charming and exceptional. It is already full of old-fashioned Comfort, full of helpful Detail. Lovely in many many ways.
