Laurence is such an beautiful hostess, she has created a space that feels like home - you enter through her large and welcoming kitchen - and you just know it's where you are meant to be. This is a tiny town of with sacred water sites all easily accessible. Local trails pass through the town. It is situated just below the town square so there is access to small cafes and other activities and needs (Poste!)

To experience Bugarach from Le Presbytère is to FULLY experience Bugarach. It is nestled at the base of the mountain with a full view from the Secret Garden (sunrise photo). The exterior of the guest house belies the beauty of this place - stepping inside is like stepping into a beautiful photo that transcends time. Even the wall painted in gold seemed to be trompe d'oeil, shifting and moving as if alive. The owner, Claire, prepares the most delicious and nurturing breakfasts and dinners - we could not get enough - and it provided the sustenance we needed to climb the Pic, the Chateaus and the Hermitage among other stops on our Pilgrimage 🌹🙏🪷

This is a wonderful place to stay when visiting the area for Mary Magdalene, hiking, or biking. The space is peaceful, quiet, and very clean. Its location offers easy access to all of the well-known sites as well as some hidden gems. Marc, the owner, was very kind—not only providing helpful information about the area but also offering to personally guide us to our points of interest. His knowledge of the history and mystical traditions surrounding Mary Magdalene, and the places where her presence can be most strongly felt, is remarkable. He is especially well-versed in the history of Rennes-le-Château and shares his insights with genuine enthusiasm. Marc’s deep love for this region, combined with his appreciation for American culture 🇺🇸 and his excellent English, makes you feel instantly at ease while traveling in a foreign country. His warmth, expertise, and generosity of spirit make him an exceptional host and tour guide.

I loved everything about my stay. Steve and Cat have poured a lot of love into their fabulous place and I almost fainted when Cat opened the curtain to my bedroom window revealing Magdala Tower at Rennes-le-Chateau just up the hill! The vibe of the property is warm and friendly and it was the ideal place to reflect and write about my almost (or perhaps really) mystical experiences over two days exploring the stunning Aude region. But, wait until Cat serves breakfast at the big table with fresh fruits, warm breads, scrumptious cheeses, yogurt, pastries, jams, orange juice, and delicious hot coffee and tea. Excellent! You’ll need the calories to hike to castles, get into Roman baths, climb to observation decks near parking areas, and so on. Cat and Steve offer great guidance on great places to visit in the area. Lovely old house, garden, swimming pool, breakfast. Helene is a great host and we thank her for all the informations about area. Great starting point if you want to visit old castels.

Our host Roy, was such a pleasure to speak with. He was such a wonderful source of information. I highly recommend hearing his take on the region. If we return we will stay with this lovely couple.

From the moment you meet the host, Richard, you will feel welcome. He is a fantastic historian of the area and is happy to chat about it or give you space to explore. The house itself has a storied history, which adds to the experience. The room I stayed in was well appointed, the bed was comfortable, and linens were cozy. Breakfast was served with the utmost attention to quality. You will be treated to fresh local baguette, croissants, jams, butter, and honey. Additionally juices are made in house (I was treated to apple and pineapple during my stay). The small village of Alet-les-bains is quiet yet full of magic, as is the Madison Aleteia. I’m already planning my next stay.
