A cozy place with small cottages right next to the water. We arrived around 8pm, right when the kitchen was closing and the staff were more than willing to prepare dinner for us. Much appreciated after a long day in our road trip.

We stayed in one of the 3 cottages. Three bedrooms/two baths (one bedroom is in a loft). Nice common area. Full kitchen. Waterfall in the back. We went in winter so it was frozen, but still beautiful. If you're staying in a cottage you do need to check in at the hostel down the road so be sure and email them ahead. They have a restaurant a few blocks away that is delicious and they sell hand knitted authentic Icelandic sweaters there, too. About 20 minute drive from the lagoon/Diamond Beach. Highly recommend.

Guest house Kálfafellsstadur is located in by the Route 1 Ring Road, a 17-minute drive from Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon. It offers brightly decorated rooms with free WiFi access and garden views.

The host was really friendly and open to questions. The guesthouse is running everything incredibely smoothly - we even got a paper with the house rules and extra information about the facilities and rooms so we could have peace of mind and not forget anything. We left for Diamond Beach at 6am and the host even told us where we can park so we don't wake the other guests, we felt really welcome. The breakfast is amazing with lots of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from♡ The beds were so so comfortable, after a whole day of driving we really couldnt wish for anything better
