One of the highlights was waking up to the serene views of Dal Lake. The service was exceptional, with the staff always ready to assist with a smile. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The delicious home-cooked Kashmiri meals were another delightful touch, offering an authentic taste of local cuisine. We had a truly memorable leisure stay at this beautiful houseboat as a couple. From the moment we stepped on board, the peaceful surroundings and calm waters made us feel completely relaxed and away from the rush of daily life. The houseboat was very well maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and offered stunning views of the water, especially during sunrise and sunset—absolutely romantic and soothing. Mascot Houseboat location is the best. It faces the Nigeen Lake and bordered the beautiful trees and mountains. It was very serene and not overcrowded. U see eagles flying above. It was a gorgeous sight, both evening and night. Great sunset. Amazing dinner and breakfast spread. Very gd food.

Mr. Firdous's houseboat was far enough from the street so the only sound you hear is the tranquility of Dal Lake. Every morning, you would wake up to a peaceful view of the lake, plus a well-cooked breakfast (try the egg pizza!) The rooms are wonderful, authentic, and full of patterns (a big YES for maximalist) Mr Firdous knows EVERYONE you need, so he is ready to go the extra mile to accommodate your needs. If he cannot help you with that, he will get you the rightest guy for you. As someone who had stayed 2 weeks before staying Veena Palace, I can say finding dinner is challenging in Srinagar, especially if you live on a houseboat. Worry not because his wife is a wonderful cook who performs art with skill and heart. I tried some dishes from the elaborate Kashmiri wazwan, and I cannot recommend enough the crispy rib and the fish curry. The meatball was mashed to perfection; chewy and juicy. I personally learnt so much about heart-to-heart connection, which is something considerable for solo travellers in India, thanks to Mr. Firdous. My words cannot describe enough for my wonderful stay with Mr. Firdous on his houseboat.
