Vacation Rentals in Montezuma

This hotel is in a beautiful location, on a hill, right next to the jungle. You can wake up to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys! The rooms are simple and functional, and balconies have a hammock and rocking chair, just what I needed for my early morning quiet routine.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Mariposa cabina at Montezuma Heights. The cabina was perfect for me as a solo traveler (it can sleep a couple in double bed) and with the refrigerator and stove and coffee maker it was a perfect setup for making light meals. The cabina is private and has two patio areas with chaise lounges, chairs and table where you can eat or have coffee and listen to nature. I was visited by iguanas, coati and a raccoon and treated to the sounds of howler monkeys and the ocean. I loved my stay. Santiago (caretaker) was very kind and helpful when I needed to install a SIM card in my phone. Peter and Roccio were lovely hosts who checked in regularly and promptly addressed anything that came up (and kindly even offered me a ride into town). One note on location is that it is walkable to town but a bit of adventure and quite steep on the return. You can get a taxi back if you don’t have your own transport. I hope to return in the future!!

Very hospitable owner and staff, super friendly and accommodating. If breakfast is included, there's a couple options and are good sized! 1 minute walk to town but not in the mix so nicely secluded. Montezuma's small, like basically one block with a street in and a street out so most places are on the main road like this one therefore easily accessible but still nice and natural. Tons of white faced monkeys and family of coati right outside. *Quick tip, like anywhere in the warm jungle type areas of Latin America, a mosquito net is your best friend*

By far the best hotel I booked in Costa Rica. Even extended my stay for a while. Spacious room that even has a kitchen attached, a balcony surrounded by greenery, what more is there to wish for? Very nice host, who also run the restaurant across the street, which is probably also one of your best options in Montezuma.

Beautiful setting! Looking toward the ocean, set in the forest. We got up each day to see the birds and animals around us, would spend the day out in Montezuma or nearby doing activities, hiking, swimming, then end the day in the perfect pool, sometimes serenaded by howler monkeys. We're hoping to come back!

Location, near the village and the beach. Trees and shade , a little terrace to have a coffee.

The property is beautiful…it set on top of the hill off of a little street. We enjoyed our daily walks into town, and seemed to find a new hike everyday. We didn’t have a vehicle and we managed to do everything on foot including groceries. If you arrive with a vehicle there is parking onsite. This was a rather large accommodation for just two of us, but definitely worth every Penny! Exequiel was a great host and always willing to go there extra mile. Would definitely recommend!

The owners are very friendly and helpful. Besides, you can hear the sound of nature; you're visited by howler monkeys and other animals. The river is just behind the house. Also, you can use the swimming pool next door.

The house is very well located. It's an easy walk to the ocean as well as the grocery store and restaurants. We did not have a car and we could still easily walk to all the essentials. Jenny the house manager was very good at the communication and helped us with any questions we had. The kids also enjoyed the pool.

The property is well kept with beautiful plants, flowers, and trees all around. Lots of nature with wildlife such as monkeys, parrots, and scarlet macaws..

The room and bathroom were very nice. The pools were relaxing and surrounded by great nature. Thomas was a very hospitable host willing to help with anything related to our trip.

The beachfront location and superb hosts were what created our amazing experience. A special Christmas to remember!

Exceptional view with a spacious private balcony and an infinity pool looking into the sunset. The property is clean and well maitained. It's far enough away from the road to escape traffic noise but high enough that you can still hear the ocean. The road leading up to it is fine - I did it in a Nissan Kicks.
