Vacation Rentals in Shingū

It was in a convenient location and the staff were extremely helpful and understanding.

Clean functional comfortable safe room and facilities. Shared bathroom amongst just 3 rooms so no issues at all. Easy to check in and out. Messages were responded promptly. I was able to send my bag to my room at the beginning of my Kumano Kodo trek with the bag waiting for me as I walked in. Bikes are also available to get around Shingu. The owners also run an izakaya nearby which had fantastic food. clientele, and staff. I was planning to go for a quick bite after hiking for 9 hours but ended up spending 3 hours having one of the best local nights in Japan hanging out with the owners, staff, and locals. Highly recommend this hostel if you are lucky to find availability. Works well as the end of Kumano Kodo stay or if you are just checking out the beautiful shrines around the Shingu and Wakayama area

Convenient little spot with lovely staff.

Host was incredibly welcoming and helpful. He searched and found information for us and even offered to help us make reservations for activities. We stayed here during the winter, but the place was warm and comfortable. It had everything we needed plus free condiments. We would love to stay here again!

I am sorry to say that we were very disappointed The rooms are ok but the sofas were quite dirty so even though the bed sheets were clean the feeling was not nice The kitchen is not useful at all and there is smell of mold in the cupboard Finally the stairs between the first floor and the bed rooms are in my mind dangerous with a very steep incline I am sorry for being so blunt because the host seems nice and communicative

The house is lovely, and although it's a bit of a trek from Shingu Station, is in a quiet part of town close to a kakigori shop, and also not far from Kamikura Shrine. As a bonus, I ended up having the entire place to myself, which made it much easier to recuperate from days of trekking along the Kumano Kodo.

The facilities were great - very clean & well kept. Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. Good kitchen and other amenities as listed. The host is amazing! I hurt my knee and needed help getting transportation into town. When he couldn't find us a taxi, he took us into town himself.

This house is a little pearl. Starting with the mysterious story you get engulfed into if you take time to read it (almost like an escape room without needing to escape). The wooden interior makes it very cozy. Whole small, it’s comfortable and has all the amenities. I especially liked its very authentic Japanese style with elements of 70-80s decor. The bedroom is quiet and comfortable. And to top it off, the hosts are a wonderful young couple, who also host a free children’s library open 24/7 almost next door.

Extremely clean and organized. We only stayed for one night so we didn’t make use of all of its facilities, but it has ever you need, even for cooking. The host was very helpful.
