Communication with the onwer was great! She responded to my messages within minutes! Great location close to the train station, if you are visiting Utsunomiya without a car and are here for sightseeing, I strongly recommend stay near the train station. Side note, you can buy a one day discounted sightseeing pass at the tourist information counter in train station for ¥2,000, cash only. All the guests were respectful and quiet during my 2 night stay. Someone in the review had mentioned there is a love hotel nearby, I was a bit concerned, but lemme tell you I walked by there at night, if you didn’t know it was a love hotel you would have no way to tell. It’s very quiet and looks just like a normal hotel, I feel very safe here as a solo female traveler. 100% recommend.

Loved the vibe of the place. Located inside a secluded forest area, very few houses around. Good parking spot. 1.3km from the nearest 711 and about 20 mins drive to Nikko center. The amenities were excellent - the kitchen has almost every utensils/tools. You have to get your own spices if you wanna cook. Enough bedding was provided, futons, pillows, blankets. There are 2 rooms, separated by sliding doors. Bathroom amenities are available too, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush kit, towels and dryer. The best part was the music system. Looks like the owner is a fan of classic English music, they even had a record player! And originals record labels 🥺 And some CDs, guitar! We had a lovely time there. The deck opens to a gorgeous view too.

It is not so common to find a completely traditional house like this as accommodation. We loved everything about it. It was so cozy, well equipped, futon was already prepared and air conditioner running when we arrived in the night. The cozy kotatsu is a big bonus. Fantastic for travelers who want to experience living in traditional housing.

Spa Resort Livemax features a large hot spring bath, an indoor swimming pool and a sauna. It also offers 2 restaurants, beauty treatments and an amusement center, as well as karaoke rooms.

Morino Garden is a hidden gem. We stayed in one of the tatami rooms and enjoyed the comfort. The room has a sink, fridge, and microwave, and the shared toilet is barely a step away. (Shower is downstairs, still quite convenient.) But the real charm of Morino Garden is the host. Yuriko went above and beyond for us, offering rides, luggage storage, and even a meal we hadn’t booked. We felt as if we’d been welcomed into a home—as, indeed, we had.

The property was easy to find, easy to park, and was exceptionally clean. Everything we needed was provided to us and it was the perfect place for our family of 5 for the weekend. My kids especially loved the games that were available to play. We will definitely stay there again next time we’re in the area.
