The property was in a rural area and quite beautiful. We weren’t there long but there was a map in the room of what looked like many beautiful hikes and mountain biking trails. We got up on the morning and walked on an exercise trail- not sure what it’s called in German- but it was delightful. We traveled into Liechtenstein and had our passports stamped at the visitor center.

1. Superb location: close to the ski-lift of Tannenheim , tickets office, ski rental shop, and two bus stations (7 and 10 minute walking distance). 2. Amazing views from the house, specially for watching the sunrise outside 3. The hosts are just lovely people. They picked us up from the train station upon arrival, and offered us bread and garlic when we were out and the shops were closed. 4. The barnhouse itself is pretty, tastefully decorated, clean and has everything! Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals 5. Extra: you get a free entry to an indoor pool that is a few minutes walking distance, and there’s an outdoor hut tub that can be used upon request in advance (it takes ours to heat). Also the host offered us to use their ski equipment. They have a storage place for that too. The hosts, Norbert and Beatrix are lovely, sweet people and they made our stay special.

I find the idea quite original, transform a prison into a hostel. All the doors and the main equippments of a prison have been conserved, the staff is extremely friendly and accessible and the hostel is equipped with a nice restaurant and all the facilities needed, The kitchen has a coffee machine which surprised me in a good way. Totally recommend.
