Cowlings was the ideal place for a family break in beautiful Swaledale. The property was spacious, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean when we arrived. Communication with the hosts was easy and they responded very quickly when we ran out of matches. The weather threw us a bit of everything during our stay but Cowlings was cozy and warm, with a wood stove and blankets for wrapping up. We cooked meals, went for walks and spent time on the front terrace - gorgeous views during the day and excellent stargazing at night. We had a brilliant time and can't recommend Cowlings highly enough.

My fourth stay here. It is a bit tired but spotless and the view on the front area, over the dales, is worth a million. Plenty of parking, and 1/2 mile walk down to the pub for dinner.
