A spacious, remodeled countryside house that gave me “My Neighbor Totoro” vibes. The host was super friendly and helpful. There are two restaurants nearby, an okonomiyaki shop and a yakiniku shop. I went to yakiniku and the owners were so much fun to chat and drink with. For other food options you’ll have to travel to the center of the island, which is about a 30-40min walk, but less on a bike. Nomad Inn is also conveniently located very close to Kami-Yuge ferry port.

This is a beautiful traditional Japanese guest house on the island of Yuge. We spent a night here while biking the Shimanami Kaido trail. Yas, our host, was super kind and helpful. Fully equipped kitchen with free coffee and tea. Nice shower. Towels can be rented for 100 yen and laundry machine use for 100 yen as well. Very comfortable tatami beds. Close to a very good izakaya restaurant for dinner as well!

This vacation home features free private parking, daily room service, and free Wifi. The accommodation offers private check-in and check-out and bicycle parking for guests.

What a lovely place to stay! A remodeled, old-fashioned Japanese house that’s been touched up with all sorts of bicycle artifacts, retro-lighting, and located less than five minutes walk from the ocean, local restaurants, and old temples and shrines. If you’re coming by bicycle, it’s just a short ride down the hill from the Iwagi bridge, and I believe the ferry port is also close by. The host was extremely friendly and helpful - my only regret is not getting to try the delicious-looking frozen pizzas they hand on-hand!

A great little hotel for those staying on Innoshima. My room was clean and well equipped, and the breakfast and staff were delightful.

Located in Onomichi and with Onomichi History Museum reachable within 1.4 miles, Lemonsea Onomichi provides a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar.

We loved this place: it was probably the nicest (and most spacious) room during our 4-week journey in Japan. The staff was very friendly. The bar/kitchen staff was exceptionally nice and prepared the best coffee we got in Japan. The traditional Japanese-style breakfast set was also delicious. We stayed one night in Onomichi as a starting point for the biking tour Shimanami Kaido, and we can only recommend it.

We stayed one night during our 2-day biking tour on Shimanami Kaido. Location was perfect: close to some good restaurants and basically on the bike route. We stayed in a mixed dorm, which was very clean and well-organised. Common shower rooms were very clean. The luggage transfer to our next stop (which was the bike rental in Imabari) worked perfectly.

We stayed 2 nights at the property, and would highly recommend it. Yuji and Yunko were very hospitable. They picked us up at the ferry and at the bus stop after the bike trip. They helped us with the bike rentals. We even shared a beer in the evening with them and their daughter Nao. They spared no effort to make us feel welcome. The room is actually the 2F of a small house on Mukaishima island. This means you get a lot more space than most hotels. Everything is clean, and the beds (twin beds) are fairly comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet. A convenience store and 24/7 supermarket is close to the Inn, although we didnt go there. Island Country Inn is easy to reach from the Onomichi train station (not the shinkansen one), the ferry to Mukaishima is short and frequent, and as mentioned they provide a transfer from the terminal to the Inn. We found it an ideal location to do the bike day trip over all the islands/bridges, and we would certainly stay there again.
