The host is very kind, he took time to show me around the town and various points of interest. He was very helpful and even graciously gifted me some sweets. In addition the accommodation has everything you need, including a small kitchen and washing machine. The terrace is especially delightful just next to the river. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would love to come again.

This is my go to cottage every winter season! near the kuju skiing grounds and it has a "home" feel to it! 10/10 I can't wait to come back next year!

While there were no staff on-site, access to the room was easily accessed by a digital concierge. The lodging facility was very clean, roomy, and included appliances and amenities. The location was quiet and I felt very safe staying alone - very well-lit parking and office areas. I did not use the onsen but it looked amazing and was included in the price for the night which was also amazing.

Loved the traditional atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Three onsens were pure bliss

The room was lovely, with tatami mats and sliding doors. It was a bit run down, but that didn’t affect my experience at all. In addition to the hotel’s own onsen, you can visit the one right across the street—and they are amazing. Truly the best experience I had during my trip.

Secluded and peaceful property in the forest.

A very comfortable and pleasant place to stay for a few days while exploring the onsen-rich Mt. Aso area. We loved it here! Note that we had rented a car for this part of our trip, the only time we did so in Japan. I would consider a car to be indispensable here. There are plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and tourist sites in the area, but they're out of practical range for bus/taxi/bicycle transport.

This is the best place I have ever stayed in OITA. The house is very nice and very cozy. It is very warm and the place is very beautiful! Even my mum and dad who do not normally say anything was very vocal how much they love the place. The owners were very helpful and very warm people too. Just a note that you cannot go here without a car because it is in the middle of the forest. But renting a car and going here was the best decision we have made for our whole Fukuoka trip!

This is a wonderfully warm and cozy place to stay. The owners are exceptionally kind, friendly, and always ready to help, which made the experience even more special. The food was absolutely amazing—one of the highlights of my stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming experience. A true must-visit!

Amazing place to stay. Had 2 huge rooms to ourselves and access to our own private onsen. Great access to hiking and close to Kurokawa onsen if you want to visit. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. And...the food - incredible! Do yourself a favor and have your meals there. We regretted not booking dinner for both nights we stayed. Would absolutely come back.

The place is surrounded with great view of nature. We arrived too late to unit the atmosphere of the place. Definitely need to arrive before 3pm to make the most of your stay.
