I have visited Portugal several times, and my stay at Pescadores Guesthouse in Costa da Caparica reminded me why I keep coming back. I was in town attending a festival and booked a room in this shared-space apartment. From the moment I arrived, Jose and his wife made me feel welcome. As a solo traveler, that means a lot. Sometimes when you’re traveling alone, you just want to feel at home, and they did exactly that. Jose clearly loves Portugal and is proud of its traditions and culture. One evening, he made us a traditional Portuguese cocktail and shared stories about the area. It wasn’t just a place to sleep—it felt like staying with friends. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and relaxed. Jose and his wife were kind, helpful, and genuinely cared that their guests had a good experience. I left feeling refreshed and grateful for their hospitality. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Portugal.

I was a little skeptical before arriving because I had seen some mixed and controversial reviews, but the second I walked in, I knew I had made the right decision. Even before my stay, I had emailed and messaged the hotel with a few questions. Despite the huge time difference, they responded quickly and were very helpful, which already gave me a great first impression. The lobby smelled amazing, check-in took less than three minutes, and I was immediately upgraded to an ocean-view room. The room itself was gorgeous, with a huge closet, a large mirror, and an incredibly comfortable California king bed that felt massive. I also had the complimentary breakfast, which was delicious and had such a wide variety of options. There was truly something for everyone. I ordered room service several times during my stay, and every time it was fast, friendly, and delivered with great service. On my last day, I needed an extra piece of luggage, and the front desk staff went above and beyond. They were extremely accommodating and even drew me a map to help me find a nearby luggage store. I actually stayed here for a couple of nights, then went to an Airbnb with friends, and came back to this hotel for the remainder of my time in Portugal and was upgraded again. That really speaks to the level of hospitality here. The views were stunning, and the location couldn’t have been better. There are so many restaurants, ice cream and dessert spots, little beach bars, and even a small shopping area nearby. It’s also right next to the beach and within walking distance of a local farmers market held every Saturday and Sunday. I genuinely loved my stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel. I can’t wait to come back and bring my friends with me next time.
