If it's true that a trip is made up of experiences, and experiences come from the people you meet, well, the people here are truly special. Incredibly helpful, they gave us useful tips for our road trip and even accompanied us to see animals in their natural environment. I would return here 100 times over.

This Finca Isla Rainforest Retreat is owned by nice German-Tico couple, Ingrid and Marco. Both live for their 80 ha of jungle, which they protect and maintain with the sustainable methods. It was great sleep there and feel the nature around. The owners are very heplful and they are able prepare food for you from their home planted bio-products! (better ask with little of anticipacion)

My stay at Quinta Turu was easily one of the most incredible lodging experiences of my life. This beautiful two-story home, with floor to ceiling windows, has absolutely amazing views of the mountains. The home is impeccably maintained and equipped with everything you could possibly need - a full kitchen, AC, WiFi, TV, plus extras like a hot tub and fire pit. The home is also perfectly located for checking out the Juan Castro Blanco and Poas Volcano National Parks. But what truly made this stay extraordinary was Silvia, my point of contact for the family who runs this gem. Her hospitality was simply unparalleled and genuinely made this one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. Silvia provided great recommendations and went above and beyond in every way imaginable. Out of pure kindness, she and her husband drove me to dinner on my first night, provided transportation to and from a waterfall tour, and even drove me 30 minutes to my next destination. During that drive, they were wonderful company, sharing stories about their lives and treating me to delicious chicharrón. As someone practicing Spanish, I was touched by their patience and encouragement with my developing language skills. And the best part of the drive? When I mentioned I hadn’t yet spotted a sloth during my Costa Rica trip, they actually took a detour to show me one living in a roadside tree. This is truly one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. If I could rate this experience higher than 10/10, I absolutely would. I can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to stay here again
