Very, Very nice (not that) little apartments, just next to Grumden's beautiful promenade. Bear in mind it's not a hotel. there is no reception or dining room, but the rooms are run by and located just above a great Cafe/Bakery. our room was spacious, modern, clean and well equipped. even though there is no reception, the self check in was pretty straight forward and convenient. Overall a wonderful and recommended experience.

Amazing view on the lake and mountains, super location 3 mins walk from tram stop and 10 mins walk to downtown, cable car exactly infront of the hotel ,very decent and elegant breakfast, spacious room and above all ,the owners of the hotel Stephie and Michael are super friendly ,helpful and the rest of the staff are very nice .I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy gmunden and explore areas around like hallstatt, bad ischl, salzburg...

This area of the Austrian lakes is perfect for off-season hiking. However, Gmunden lacks specialty coffee places. There are also few interesting pubs and restaurants, and many places close early. Shops were typically open only until 6:00 PM.

Gmunden is in a beautiful setting on the lake and surrounded by mountains. There are beautiful, old buildings and some interesting independent shops. We enjoyed the Christmas Market which, although small, was full of artisanal products. The weather was mainly foggy and damp, although we had a little snow on Christmas Eve, so we didn't do all the things we had planned, such as a cable car ride up to Gruenberg, but we enjoyed visiting Stoegmullers, a large fashion department store and La Sonett patisserie and bakery, which has the most sumptuous cakes. (They also have apartments in a very convenient location). The Schlossort, the castle on the lake is worth a visit - and a few photographs - and has a large car park, which is a bit of a walk from the castle but the route is flat. We only ate out once, because the cooking facilities and equipment at the apartment were so good, which was at a Greek restaurant called Meteora, at the end of the street where the apartment was located. The food was hearty and extremely tasty and the staff very friendly and obliging. We would certainly go back there. Getting around Gmunden is easy, due to the frequent buses and their tram line, which runs from the Bahnhof to the Rathausplatz. If you want to use your car, there is a convenient underground parking garage near the lake and good on street parking, although you will need to download a parking app. Gmunden has something for everyone, great sporting activities, fitness centres etc, as well as good restaurants and bars and excellent shopping opportunities. We plan to return later in the year.

Such a wonderful place.

Such a wonderful place. Beautiful buildings and great cafes and restaurants. The Traunsee tram makes public transportation easy. The only downside is the short term parking, so got to look for pricey underground parking or free parking lots which are far away.

I love the little town. Lovely square. Nice walk around the like. If you love hiking the place to visit. So much to do. Easy access. People were very nice and helpful. I didn't have a great weather but as they say it's not bad weather but wrong clothes 😆.

It’s a lovely town with access to the lake and a local rail/...

It’s a lovely town with access to the lake and a local rail/tram network. Various cultural activities and we timed it nicely for the annual ceramics fair. We used it as a base from which to travel to visit friends locally but it was relaxing and a lovely stay.

Gmunden is an amazing undiscovered place which deserves a larger tourist crowd than it currently has. It is the best place to stay in Salzkammergut as it allows easy access to all attractions in the region, but still this is a town and not a village.

The hotel is located in the center of the town, next to the Rathaus. Breakfast area is beautiful, you can enjoy both the breakfast (a good one!) and the beautiful view to the Taunsee. The staff is friendly and helpful, Spar is nearby. Tram station and the lake are just hundreds meters away. Check-in and check-out process were fast!

Well appointed and comfortable property with a large balcony. A parking space provided in a rather limited other options. Gmunden has many good restaurants and shopping centres along the lake. A great place to explore from near and places like Salzburg or Linz.
