Lake Bonney is a great place to visit all year round.
Lake Bonney is a great place to visit all year round. Even though the mornings were foggy the sun eventually came out for a pleasant stay. The Lake looks just as beautiful in winter as it does in summer.
Breakfast at Le Bonney Cafe in the main street was delightful.

Excellent house with everything we needed plus so many more little touches to make it a great stay.
Host communicated with us to provide all the information we needed for our stay.
Barmera is a great country town with the beautiful Lake Bonney to enjoy daily.
We will definitely stay here again :)

A beautifully maintained township with excellent public...
A beautifully maintained township with excellent public facilities along Lake Bonney foreshore. There is clearly a lot of civic pride among the locals.the gardens are lovely, plenty of playground and sporting areas, swimming beach, boating, not to mention a number of historical sites.

A small, peaceful town in a pretty setting by beautiful Lake...
A small, peaceful town in a pretty setting by beautiful Lake Bonney. Much quieter than usual at this time of year because of the impact of the River Murray floods on the lake and limited accommodation. Not many options for eating out in the evening. Efforts have been made to rejuvenate the foreshore area. Lots of lawn and trees and view of the lake make it an ideal picnic spot. Probably best for young families.

Love the Riverland with Lake Bonney and the River Murray...
Love the Riverland with Lake Bonney and the River Murray close by.
Sunset on Lake Bonney if you go around to the east of the lake never disappoints.
Well presented town with lovely walking track around parts of the lake plus fitness equipment.
Barmera Hotel serves a good pub meal
Close to other lovely Riverland towns.
Monash playground only a few kms away.
Great for watersports - waterskiing, kneeboarding, sailing, kayaking.

Great location, directly opposite beautiful Lake Bonney, easy walk into town and to the cafe and club. The house had everything we needed, plenty of space inside and out. Well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge with good sized telly. The bed was comfortable; we slept like logs. Full sized fridge and oven meant we could cook a and not eat out every night. Barmera has a good supermarket, and a butcher. Short drive to Renmark, Loxton and Berri, but you can walk to everything in Barmera from the house, including the golf course.
We'll be back.

Easy check-in with friendly staff still around even though we arrived in the early evening. Big, comfortable rooms with a great view over the lake and enough table space to work. A comfortable distance from Melbourne at a short day's drive. We had an evening meal a couple of streets away at the Barmera Hotel Motel, where there was a big choice of good value food. Choice of cafes available for a 7 am breakfast.

Wow, what a gorgeous location right on the barmera lake! The place was spacious with an amazing outdoor area and plenty of room outside for activities. They even had board games, a swing, hammock, outdoor tv, jetty into the lake and kayaks there to use.
It was also very peaceful, with no neighbours in sight.
The perfect place for a weekend getaway with family or friends!
