From
AustraliaGreat walks on the station itself, amazing views! Proximity to Wilpena Pound was a bonus. This station experience was a wonderful part of our Flinders Ranges trip. We were given plenty of information when we booked (need to bring own food), which was very handy, plus the warm and informative welcome was great.

We have been to the Flinders Ranges many times over the years. Wilpina Pound has wonderful walks, the accommodation is great and the restaurant is very good. Rawnsley Park is for us the most scenic and more isolated area to stay. The Woolshed is a wonderful place to eat, and we love seeing the wildlife in the area.

Many places were accessible from Rawnsley
Many places were accessible from Rawnsley
With recent rains everything was so green and lush looking
There were still pools water in several creek beds
The Moralana valley drive in early evening had hundreds of kangaroos to be seen/ avaoided with a few emus.
Enjoyed the mine tour in Blinman - friendly guides
So many good lookouts and for a small SUV (not 4WD) the roads and access points were all good except for Brachina and Bunyeroo gorges
Paying to get into National parks is a sore point!

So much wild life around and we got up close and personal with them on the Bunyeroo Gorge & Brachina Gorge loop. Bunyeroo Gorge & Brachina Gorge loop are spectacular. Our 8 and 4 yo loved it too. For young kids 3 days was more than enough , as all the driving required to get to the flinders then to and on the driving tracks was started to wear them out. Eating out places we went to were just adequate and nothing spectacular, but you don’t go there for the food.

We went at a perfect time to see the country at its best after rain. The wild flowers were out and everything was green. We had wildlife Emus and birds at our door. The weather was perfect. We went to relax and see the scenery and our 10 day trip allowed us to do both. We had several days with planned day activities including a 4WD trip and flight over the ranges and to see Lake Eyre. We did some short day drives to visit Hawker, Blinman & Quorn and other days just rested up. We got to do everything we had planned and more.

The Flinders Ranges are not only and drop-dead gorgeous in terms of the landscape and sightseeing but are geologically and culturally fascinating. The Great wall of China lived up to its name!
So many emus!!!
Driving around is easy - roads are good.

The Flinders Ranges offers visitors an insight into some significant geological upheaval during the ediacaran period of some 500 million years ago. There are an abundance of walks and tours that match all fitness and interest levels for young and old.

A once in a lifetime experience. Staying in a historic outback pub that excels in cutting-edge food contemporary rooms that would fit in a 5 star hotel in any international city.
Friendly and helpful staff.
You have to stay at least one night to experience what will be a memory for a lifetime.

Great location for exploring the Flinders Ranges around Wilpena Pound. Fabulous staff were very helpful. The cottage is just right, rustic, but had everything we needed to cook all meals (you have to bring all your food). Warm and cosy, and WiFi is available just a stones throw away.

Location is fantastic for exploring Wilpena Pound and the Flinders Ranges in general. The Resort stay included a very generous breakfast selection. The local walks were easy to access and provided plenty of opportunity to enjoy the local environment.

Viewing kangaroos from our deck, against a beautiful backdrop of the ranges, was a superb addition to our holiday in the Flinders Ranges. We plan to return with family and grandchildren, as this experience is so good.
