Got to meet the owner and he was a neat character. The old cars that they parked out front gave it more appeal. Even though it had plenty appeal without them.

The Qantas museum and the stockman's hall of fame were terrific. The bistro in the middle of town was great but the meal at the RSL was not . The club should be avoided. The museum was worth a visit.

Longreach has a variety of historically significant places to visit, as well as the quirkiness of a large country town. Plenty to see and do over a couple of days. Don't miss the Stockmans Hall of Fa.e. Qantas Founders Museum, Smithy's Outback Dinner and Show and the Stone Grilled Dinner experience.

We loved the concrete walk way from the airport into town.

We loved the concrete walk way from the airport into town. We walked it everyday and felt safe. We visited the Stockman's hall of fame, QANTAS muesum, Cobb and Co experience and Thomson River cruise. We thought the seating in the main street was excellent. The statues, the tropic of Capricorn monument were interesting! We ate at the RSL Club, The Diner, The Birdcage and Longreach Tavern. Plenty of choice.

There is a lot to like about Longreach - the QANTAS Museum and the Stockman's Hall of Fame are but two. We visited during Opera in the Outback and were pleasantly surprised at the welcoming nature of the locals and the fantastic food. The Staging Post and Saltbush Retreat are to upmarket locations to stay with some great restaurants and taverns in town for dining options. The region relies on tourism and I would recommend visiting during late autumn and winter (less rain, flies and mosquitoes), if you do take a jumper as it does get cool at night.

Good location, far enough out of town to feel remote big night sky feel, yet close enough to get what you needed in longreach 10 minutes. The cleanliness of the room was exceptional, the way the accommodation was set out was excellent. Their attention to the needs of their guests is not notch (quality bed and linen, towels was excellent).

The lady at the front desk was very accommodating and went above and beyond to meet our needs, especially when we had to extend our stay due car troubles. When finding out we are on our honeymoon, she came to our room and gave us a bottle of champagne to congratulate us! We will definitely be staying here next time we come to longreach.

For a start the cost was $50 per night more than we paid for another place in Longreach the previous 2 nights, which was completely better in every way.

In the centre of town at the rear of an old hotel, attached to it. Quiet location. Only one friendly male staff member who was very helpful.
