The room was excellent and well furnished.

The room was excellent and well furnished. The view of the Lake from the centre was spectacular. The staff were most helpful and always willing to assist when needed. The cost of food was very reasonable and service excellent.

I loved the location which was enhanced by the views over Lake Pedder. The staff were great. Any visitor has to visit the Gordon Dam site. It's breathtaking. Radio reception is very poor from about Maydena westward. So, make sure you have other means of listening to music, etc.

This location is INCREDIBLE. There is NOTHING - NOTHING.

This location is INCREDIBLE. There is NOTHING - NOTHING. Which makes the location so special. Think: when and where have you been that you do not see any domestic animals. When and where have you been that you do not round a corner and see some human habitation? This is PURE nature. The walks, the views, the habitat, the culture, the history. Then, you go to Strathgordon and the dam. It is an incredible feat of amazing proportion and engineering skill. It amazes at every level, height and fact. I cannot believe how amazing it is. I am an environmentalist, but when I think of the hydro system that Tasmania runs off vs. the dam that was made, there is a necessary trade-off.

In the listing it seems as though you can hire kayaks from Pedder wilderness Lodge to access the lake, however it is only once you arrive that it becomes clear that the only way to access the lake is through a different company who do guided 3 hour tours at a whopping $150 pp. Very misleading and ridiculously expensive. I've never paid $150 per night for a holiday experience anywhere else where as the paying customer I have been expected to remove the pool cover of a 30m lap pool by myself and then replace it when finished, or to disarm alarm systems and turn lights on for common areas such as the recreation centre where the pool was. The location of this property is spectacular and the staff were lovely but I would probably not go back to this venue. The owners are lucky they have the only property "in town" because any competition would force them to close. For the price of this property I expected more. Or at least what they advertise - live music, kayaks, board games that aren't broken, things for kids to do etc. But as is the case with most holiday venues in Tasmania - kids are never catered for properly, if at all.

The view and restaurant were the only good things about the place. Took hours to get there and totally disappointed. The standard room was not like the pictures and would recommend another type of room. The rooms are old, tiny and so close together you can hear every conversation in the rooms around you.
