A hidden gem of a place in this day and age!!! Very friendly and helpful locals… Easy to get around with buses and marshrutkas Some great restaurants Interesting sites to journey out to and explore Favourite was definitely Alinja Castle!

Nakhchivan is a great place for those who love historic...

Nakhchivan is a great place for those who love historic sites & mountains. There are many castles, mausoleums and other historic buildings. It is not another crowded and jammed with traffic city. Totally, opposite of it. If you rent a car during your stay there you can easily see most sightseeing places in 3-4 days.

Nakhchivan is not even underrated. It`s forgotten. Why?

Nakhchivan is not even underrated. It`s forgotten. Why? Maybe because it is really hard to get there, but every second spent there and on travelling there from the EU was worth it. Untouched nature combined with very old buildings with no crowds.. sorry, no people visiting (or barely) is something positively shocking. Nakhchivan is perfect for those, who like planning trips on their own and I wish I have stayed there two days longer. Mountains growing up from the desert, mysterious lakes and very friendly locals willing to help is a perfect combination for me and I am sure I will go there one more time. Tip: drink only bottled water. Even for cleaning teeth.
