The room was so lovely, homey, cozy, and beautiful, with plants and a comfortable bed and lovely view. The owners are kind and super responsive! I was also able to check myself in, which was really helpful as I came late on a Sunday. The area is amazing--walking distance to so many things, and the 4 tram that takes you into the heart of the city in a couple minutes. I was in the room on the fourth floor. I'd absolutely stay here again.

A Gem of Fashion

As the world’s largest diamond-cutting city, Antwerp (Anvers in French) is naturally affluent. It comes as no surprise then that fashion is also of utmost importance, so the shopping here is excellent. It may not be the cheapest place, but the quality certainly matches the price.

Another big business in Antwerp is the port, one of Europe’s largest. Take a cruise around to admire its scale. The Scheldt River leads from the port into the city, and on its banks are a handful of interesting museums and Het Steen, a medieval castle built to protect the city against Viking invasions.

A few streets back is the Grote Markt, a beautiful square flanked by the grand town hall and 16th-century guildhouses – a typically Belgian scene. Behind this is UNESCO World Heritage-listed Antwerp Cathedral, whose asymmetrical towers look down over Groenplaats, a tranquil square filled with pavement cafes. Belgian beer is legendary and the local brew is De Koninck, which packs quite a punch.

In the south of the city is the most unusual sight – Wilrijk’s huge Jain Temple, one of the largest outside India. A little further east is Antwerp Airport, efficiently connected by public transport to the Antwerp hotels, guesthouses and apartments that are available on Booking.com.

Antwerp is a beautiful city full of history.

Antwerp is a beautiful city full of history. It exceeded our expectations with what it provides as a tourist destination from beautiful old medieval squares and buildings, to wonderful shopping districts, river swimming, water parks and playgrounds for kids and so many fantastic bars, cafes, restaurants all packed in an easy to navigate area.

The Cathedral, Sint Carolus Borromeus the Jesuit Church, Plantin-Moretus the printing museum, the Red Star Line Museum of emigration, the KMSKA Royal Museum of Art. The Zuid Park and the walk along the river Scheldt. All very easy to get around because of the tram and bus system. The people were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, and super fashionable. Every other place seemed to be a gym. I did not know that Antwerp was a center of fashion and design and full of beautiful fit looking young people (I am not young myself!). Nice food, good coffee.

The city is full of character with culture and design. We love the parks and many bikes, water bus and walkable distances to all the tourist locations. We especially enjoy the food experiences. High quality of food around the city.

I liked Antwerp a lot more than I expected to (I had it somehow differently in my memory). Definitely a cool place to visit with lots of history, culture and cafes. Small enough to walk around but dead simple to use public transport and the central railway station is a destination in itself, so if you arrive directly from Brussels airport, travel by train, don't bother with a taxi. Lots of cobbles though so for anyone who is less mobile, not so easy, and you have to be careful of bicycles and scooters

I grew up in that city but was now just a visitor. Best thing about Antwerp is that it is small. U can walk from the station to the river in 30 minutes. The whole city is in walking distance. Huge number of bars and restaurants, nice shopping street, beautiful old buildings. Very safe city. Top list to see = the Central train station, the most beautiful in the world. After that, De Meir, De De Keyserlei, the Kathedral, grand place with Brabo fountain, majestic city hall, Het Steen (castle) next to the river and get lost in all ancient little streets.

Great city, I recommend doing a walking tour to get to know more about the history. It is a good place to travel to for 2-3 days, there is not a ton to do so short stay is ideal. Also great for solo travelers.

really nice hotel, only minutes away from the Berchem station (bus, tram and train). alright neighbourhood, with some weird types here and there but perfect if you're travelling just to see the centre of Antwerp. i recommend checking out the streets north of the hotel (towards draakplaats) for some beautiful art nouveau architecture!

Great location and facilities. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel had a good vibe to it. Only 10 minute walk from Antwerp Centraal station. Beds were super comfortable and our rooms were quiet.
