A quiet, peaceful getaway. The mountain views are beautiful, and the small-town vibe is so relaxing. The couple operating the lodge; they are amazing, lovely people who go out of their way to be helpful. On top of the great hospitality, the accommodations are pristine. The rooms and modern bathrooms are cleaner than almost anywhere else we've stayed during our two weeks in Canada.

We were travelling from Jasper to Vancouver, and Avola has very convenient location by the highway. You can get gas and groceries there. We stayed in Avola Mountain Lodge, highly recommend this place.

There's really nothing here.

There's really nothing here. We stayed at the "Avola Mountain Lodge" (really just a motel, but updated) en route from Jasper to Vancouver, which we recommend if the rates are good. Avoid the General Store, especially if you think you need to use a washroom. We didn't check out the restaurant but it didn't look very inviting. Highly recommend the Eleanor lake in Blue River, 30km north, for a refreshing swim. (And yes, they have free, clean washrooms.)
