LL Town is a nice, small complex with a few hotels around the Samson Mall, a group of shops covering basic needs. The main draw is of course the nearby Lake Louise itself (with massive Fairmont hotel), Moraine Lake plus a plethora of walking trails in the surrounding mountains. There are several excellent operators running tours and outdoor activities around the area. This area is world reknown for its stunning mountain scenery and the Lakes are beautiful. We were there in August at the height of the tourist season so the Lake surrounds were packed with visitors which detracted somewhat from the experience. The services we recieved (hotel, food, tours etc) were mostly excellent and the people were super. We only spent 2 nights and would like to have stayed longer to explore away from the hot spots and maybe off peak season next time.

The hotel is clean, rooms have coffee machines and kettle for teas as well as a refrigerator but there’s limited restaurants in the area, since we visited in June not for skiing we had to take a shuttle to Lake Louise and paid for it, the public bus is only $5 but it only runs to 3:45 and it’s very hard to get parking at Lake Louise, the hotel however offers free shuttle to the ski slopes. Most restaurants close at 10 and there’s no downtown area to walk or shops, one night is enough to stay in the area, we liked Banf for a longer stay, it has a nice downtown atmosphere and many restaurants and shops

Lake Louise is great, although the lake itself is one of the smallest in the area. However, it is nestled among the snow-covered mountain peaks which makes for a great view. The village of Banff, while indeed interesting, reminds us of a tourist trap, however.

Lake Louise is getting very over touristed.

Lake Louise is getting very over touristed. The Chateau is off limits except to guests and durring peak season the rates there are around $2000 per night which puts it out of reach for most people and the resturants are mostly only for guests. Parking at $35 in the summer is silly and the lot fills up early in the morning. The busses also get booked up early forcing some tourists to book "Private Tours" at an exhorbant cost. We live in Calgary and love the area but now only come in the off season or occasionaly camp nearby in the summer as most hotels are north of $500 per night. We can afford to stay anywhere but do look for value.. Parks Canada need to re-evaluate...

Lake Louise attracts thousands of visitors who have to be managed; it's overshadowed by the mass of the fairmont Chateau hotel. Louise is one of hundreds of vividly coloured, turquoise lakes in the Alberta Rockies. If you want beauty with a little peace and quiet look elsewhere. Emerald lake, half an hour away from Louise, is beautiful ad attracts fewer visitors. Peyto lake, see photo, on the Icefield Parkway is perhaps the most dramatic (hint: don't turn right into the parking but continue straight on to the upper parking and avoid a strenuous climb uphill on foot). Accommodation at Lake Loise is expensive. Consider staying in Banff or Golden and driving into the area. Parks Canada has useful info about shuttle service and parking.

I paid nearly $800 per night expecting a quiet, nature-focused stay, as advertised on the hotel’s website. Instead, I was first given a noisy room, and then moved to another that smelled strongly of bleach and had a broken window. Despite my allergy, no alternative room was offered. The bleach fumes caused severe headaches that required painkillers, and by the second day, ants had entered the room. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing and far from worth the price.

Very central location to Lake Louise shops, Lakes and Gondola. Great service. Lake Morraine and Lake Louise Shuttle from the hotel is very convenient. Breakfast options are buffet or A la Carte. A little expensive i think, very good food. Nice indoor pool and steam room plus hot tub. Would be lovely it it was outdoors! Love the rooms with a balcony where you can open the doors and have lovely fresh air. It is near the railway line but the trains are more like a quiet hum at night and we did not find this a problem at all.

What an amazing hotel! The staff are amazing, the location is beautiful, we had a room over looking the lake and the view was like a painting! Restaurants have lovely food. If you are visiting Lake Louise I wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else, we could enjoy the lake at our own pace once most of the day visitors have left and the hotel organises shuttles just for guests to other popular sites like Moraine Lake for a reasonable price.

Great place to stay to see a unique treasure -Moraine Lake - without all the daytime crowds around. Nice cabins with wood fires and lovely views. The food was first class and although the accomodation is expensive, dinner was reasonably priced and a cooked breakfast is included.
