The stay at the River House was one of the highlights of our trip to Ontario/Toronto. What a gem - perfect setting surrounded by nature, and everything set for the guests to enjoy it - hot tube, fireplace by the river, with cozy lights to create an atmosphere. House has got all one needs - the kitchen is fully equipped, board games to play, and even kayaks for a short adventure on the river! Thank you again, you made our stay very special.

The beach was nice and close to the main area. All walkable.

The beach was nice and close to the main area. All walkable. We did not visit the submarine, perhaps next time. We had the bbq platter at Straikos which was nothing to write home about. The ribs were disappointing.

Port Burwell needs to improve there marketing - especially...

Port Burwell needs to improve there marketing - especially for their primary attraction: submarine OJIBWA. We travelled a long ways to see the s/m and arrived to find a note on the window of the ticket office that the tour was not open Mon/Tue. Signage to find the ticket office was very inadequate, almost nil. Street adjacent to tje s/m was not inviting with so many places closed/empty. This community needs to get its act together considering the money and effort given to get the s/m where it is.

Small sleepy town. Not many restaurants.

Small sleepy town. Not many restaurants. Great beach for families. Interesting submarine tour available right off the main street. Not a lot to do, but if you can entertain yourself and you are looking for a quiet relaxing time it is perfect.
