It was actually a transit for a (full) day in Rome. Instead of booking a hotel near FCO which was more expensive than this room rate, and not forget about the expensive fare for airport pick up+ drop off. I was extremely happy and satisfied with my last night staying in Rome. Such a beautiful fine hotel, the room is super clean, there is a garden in the property where I could do my exercise in the morning then head to hotel breakfast, warm and helpful hotel staff. The location looks far from FCO but it is actually very convenient to get there. If you travel light, just take the Leonardo Express direct train from FCO (€15) to Roma termini, hop on Bus 82 right in front of the termini, and a short walking distance you will reach the hotel. If you travel with big luggage bags, I chose to ride the taxi/uber from the hotel to Roma termini to the airport the next day. The taxi ride cost me €15.50. As for last night in Rome, I was happy l could enjoy a nice Cacciò e Peppe and delicious pizza at Mamma Pizza by just walking distance before leaving Italia.

We had a fantastic stay at the Tree Charme Augusto. The hotel is a lovely conversion of a historic residence building and perfectly located within walking distance of all major tourist attractions in Rome. The rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. The breakfast downstairs is delicious and the staff members are absolute sweethearts. All check-in details were communicated clearly at arrival. There is a reliable shuttle service from and to the airport. If you look for a friendly and cute boutique hotel experience in Rome, then look no further

Comfortable well appointed room with modern bath and ice cold air conditioning. Room has a kitchenette with a double window which opens to overlook a courtyard. Claudia was extremely helpful with self check-in and recommendations for local restaurants. The Cafe Mozart, located just outside the hotel front entrance, serves a great Roman breakfast of brioche, orange juice, and cappuccino (free for guests). Vatican City, Metro Ottaviano, great shops and restaurants, are all easy walks away. Wonderful location. Thank you Claudia for all your correspondence and hospitality and checking on my wellbeing! Can’t wait to return. Grazie :)

Rome is a city that truly feels like an open-air museum.

Rome is a city that truly feels like an open-air museum. Every street seems to reveal another beautiful building, fountain or historic square. The atmosphere is lively, warm and full of character. Walking through the city is one of the best ways to experience its history and charm. The food is pretty decent, from simple pasta dishes to authentic Roman pizza and gelato. We especially enjoyed the small local restaurants away from the busiest tourist areas. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Vatican were even more impressive in person. Rome also has many peaceful neighbourhoods and hidden cafés worth discovering. The city combines history, culture and everyday Italian life in a very special way. It is a destination we would gladly return to again and again.

It was very hot (+90 F every day).

It was very hot (+90 F every day). In the future, would seek out cooler times. If you are going during peak heat months, consider some of the less popular sites (Colosseum, Vatican) for ones where you don't have to walk as much or wait in line as much. There are a host of "lesser" museums throughout Rome that are excellent but not crowded at all,

Rome the Eternal City, where do I begin?

Rome the Eternal City, where do I begin? First, if you go in July like we did, prepare for the heat. You WILL sweat so be ready for that. Also be prepared to do a lot of walking. We used Freenow but later realized that it is much cheaper to get taxi service directly - talk to the hotel front desk and they will gladly arrange a taxi to come or go to the nearest taxi stand (you can easily Google this). Whatever phone provider you have, be sure to purchase an additional international plan so that you can get 5G service throughout Rome. Avoid the restaurants closest to tourist attractions (i.e. Pantheon) because some of them are unscrupulous and tack on a 10% "tax". Ironically, the best pizza we had was in the La Renascente Mall food court (6th floor). It's the blue and white checkered pizza shop. Their pizza is superior to anything you will have to most of the tourist restaurants. Be prepared to do a lot of walking so bring good shoes or sandals. The roads are not paved so keep your eye on the road. Don't assume that everyone speaks English so be ready to use your translate app. Order and drink your espresso and pastry directly from the counter for a neat experience - it's how the locals enjoy their morning coffee before going off to work. Remember the adage "when in Rome", relax, and have fun!

It was super hot during our stay, which made sight seeing something of a struggle sometimes, but at least we avoided the worst crowds due to the heat. You cannot deny the history and attraction of the "Eternal City". Italian work pace is not the most efficient, services around tourism are not always the most intuitive and can in fact seem a little disorganized at times, but there is a certain quaintness enjoying "La Dolce Vita". Lots of non-Italians in Rome, most restaurants and tourism business are staffed by Indians, so you have to keep your wits about you to make sure you are not getting scammed or ripped off. Locals, especially museum guards are not the most courteous or helpful, you can get the feeling that they are somewhat tired of all the tourists. Convenient to get around on e-scooters or e-bikes. Nevertheless, Rome is a must see!

Rome is a beautiful city with lots of history , beautiful old architecture/ art . There's a lot of things to see & even if you're alone you always feel like you're inherently in romance with the streets, people , architecture , food . It's funny it feels that way .The shopping , restaurants / food . But please wear good walking shoes so you can enjoy it more.

Lots of rambling roads. Get a good map or a good guide.

Lots of rambling roads. Get a good map or a good guide. You can walk to most places - if you're fit but book the stuff you want to see. Wear decent trainers. Lots of the surfaces are uneven or worn - its an old city. Be prepared for the heat in summer 38 degrees or so. Take plenty of pit stops and pace yourself. Have a go at Italian but don't despair lots of caffe owners speak English. Watch out for the traffic it is crackers. Have your head on a swivel. It felt quite safe though. Never once felt threatened but there are lots of people trying to flog you stuff or get you on buses which does get a bit wearing - wave them away and don't engage unless you are interested then best of luck. After that enjoy the sights and sounds and look up that's where the history is as you walk round (other than the obvious other bits). There are eateries all over the place some better than others. They all serve broadly the same type of stuff - mainly Italian and that's it. Didn't come across a huge variety but ate in 4 or 5 different places and it was all ok.

Residenza Maritti is a marvelous hotel. I have stayed here perhaps 20 times in the last 7 years or so, whilst living in Italy. It is quite simply one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. The location is nothing short of spectacular; the staff and owners very kind and helpful; the rooms full of character and history as well as being spotlessly clean; the rooftop terrace has breathtaking views of ancient Rome. When I come to Rome, I always stay at Residenza Maritti. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the Eternal City from.

The very best breakfast i have had in Italy, over the past 7 years of travelling around Italy. The hotel is a very well kept building and has a modern feel to it. The staff are all very helpful and especially the bar tender, who also oversees the dining area - Thank you. The location is not in the center of Rome and its a short bus ride to the nearest Metro station - but the busses & Metro are frequent and easy to use.
