Very friendly stuff and community, only one advice that if you decide to travel here tomorrow, you better have a good pair of winter tires if you traveling on car because we were stuck in snow for almost 2 hours before the entrance of this cottage’s. Overall everything great, cottage are warm, have beautiful views, great kitchen, comfy beds only one small issue personally my cottage wasn’t having tv and access to wifi because it was far from main unit.

Port Carling is a charming small town nestled in the Muskoka...

Port Carling is a charming small town nestled in the Muskoka area. It is fairly easy to walk around the downtown but a bit hilly for my dad who is 85. We had dinner at Turtle Jacks which is right on the water and was a bit pricy but the food and service was very good. We found a small little bakery by the locks and bought a quiche for our breakfast and it was the best quiche I have ever had. I can't remember the name but it is tucked away down by the boat docks in town. My only issue was that I wake up early and went for a walk and was looking for a nice coffee shop but nothing opened until 9am. My family stayed at Muskoka Lakes hotel which was very nice and did a lot of swimming off the dock which was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake and the sunsets. A great place to visit if you like a nice quiet, relaxing vacation.

Port Carling is a lively town with lots to do and see.

Port Carling is a lively town with lots to do and see. I loved Field of Greens because I love food! The town is a great base for exploring beautiful Muskoka Lakes. Lots to see in your car or from a boat. The Muskoka Lakes Golf Course is well worth a visit if you play golf. The whole area is spectacular! Enjoy, and don’t forget about The Festival of the Sound in Parry Sound if you love classical music.

Quiet little town with waterway access to all three Muskoka...

Quiet little town with waterway access to all three Muskoka lakes. Spectacular view of the sunrise over Lake Rousseau. A couple of decent restaurants near the locks. Windermere House a short drive away.

The Sherwood Inn staff were very friendly.

The Sherwood Inn staff were very friendly. Beautiful setting on Lake Joseph. Great winter get away. Port Carling was very close and Bala only 10 minutes away. Both are pretty towns with nice lake views.

Loved the ridiculously peaceful environment, you're right on...

Loved the ridiculously peaceful environment, you're right on a lake, the BBQ grills, the access to free paddle boats and paddle boards, the unbelievable starry skies, the very friendly host and the nearby cute towns. Everything is there in one place. However, you do need a car, and while the internet is JUST fast enough for Netflix and streaming, don't expect to download or upload large files with ease. I'm a photographer so I had to wait till I got home to upload and process imagery taken from the trip.

Absolutely beautiful area!

Absolutely beautiful area! Beautiful quaint shops and lots of walking. We brought our boat so that was fun. We were able to dock it at our hotel, The Muskoka Lakes Inn and Suites( great accommodations)The lakes were amazing with views of spectacular cottages. A few downsides, only one gas station and it closes at 6. No where to get coffee or breakfast before 900, and no convenience store to get last minute things. Unfortunately No night life like live music on a patio which was surprising considering the beautiful views of the water everywhere. But the people were super friendly and they have several great restaurants to choose between. Fantastic food at Coops and Turtle Jacks. And not to mention you can boat up to the LCBO😉

I thought cottage #2 was cute and cozy. I loved the theme and decor. I liked that you even had spices and coffee filters. I liked that it was not far to drive to with Port Carling or Bracebridge. I loved the kayaking and paddle boat and that PFD were available. I loved that there was a box fan for use. We always sleep with one as it also helps with noise distractions. I loved that a sensor light came on when we came home after dark. Host was very friendly and accommodating. Gave us 3 towels… I did not ask for them only inquired.

Healthy hearty breakfast, excellent coffee and fresh fruit. Very agreeable staff all over, they went out of their way to accommodate requests. Serene and wood like property, large enough for privacy spots, lake front , beach, paths, fire pit, patios and relaxation. Onsite restaurant with large variety for all tastes. Close to Port Carling, boutique shopping and icecream stop, museum and parks.

This hotel is in a great location, in the center town of Port carling. In walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Hotel was very clean and the staff was great. Only small issue was my booking was incorrect through booking.com but the owner fixed the issue and we were happy with our room. We will definitely be back again. Thank you
