The staff, clean, new room, with an ocean view, good coffee, great hair and bath products. Doesn't get much better. Highly recommend. The skinny mirror was a bonus. lol

One of the nicest hotel rooms I have stayed in. The bed was super comfortable and the reception staff were very helpful when I arrived off the ferry at midnight. Great that there was breakfast as well. Only wish I got to spend more time at the hotel - to be able to enjoy it more fully.

Our room and patio had a million dollar view. It reminded me of a Norwegian fjord. The breakfast was the best we ever had at a BnB or hotel.

What Guests Said About Port Hardy:

Port Hardy is quite small, but it has the necessities you might need. There is a Save-On-Foods near the hotel, as well as a pharmacy and even a Dollar store. You will also find a McDonald's and an A&W nearby. If you are staying at the hotel, I would recommend the attached Pub. It's very good and has a good, varied menu. San Joseph Bay is a must-see trip. It's beautiful! The 62km road is a well-graded active logging road as far as Holberg. We did not find the logging trucks to be a problem. A few empty trucks passed us on the way up; on the return, we did not see any. The trailhead to the bay is 16km further. It's an easy 45-min to 1-hr walk to the bay through a beautiful forest. Another day trip is Port Alice. This is a very pretty town at the end of a long inlet. It's an easy 30km drive on a paved road. In Port Alice, you will find a pleasant waterfront walk with lovely views of the inlet, a great coffee shop, a neat gift shop with local crafts, as well as other amenities. Along the way coming or going, Marble River Provincial Park has a nice 8km trail to some waterfalls should you want some exercise. The trail is not difficult and can be done in about 2 hours. When you get back to your hotel, you will have had a good day!

I feel Port Hardy is one of the nicest small towns on the island. Impeccably clean, neat, & quaint, homes, Yards & businesses well taken care of, showing a pride of ownership. Fantastic little restaurants with great food & reasonably priced. Friendly local people everywhere. Well done Port Hardy, hope to visit again soon, only longer.

Port Hardy is a seaport and connection point to the ferry service to more northern islands and coastal communities along BC's coast all the way to Prince Rupert. It is small, Indigenous-run community that has considerable services and courteous and competent staff at each point of service we experienced.

Port Hardy is central to many hiking trails and booking boat trips. Lots of good restaurants. I just wish that it would be possible to book half days fishing trips (only full days were available which is not ideal if you are afraid of the sea or this is your first boat trip).

Having an oceanside hotel was wonderful to see the tide ebbing and flowing, plus the eagles and seals. People we met in the town were very personable. Unfortunately, the Visitor Centre was closed on Saturday and Sunday, which was most upsetting because they had the Port Hardy T-shirts that we wanted for souvenirs. The Port Hardy Heritage Society in the museum and the West Coast Community Craft Shop were great places to procure some wonderful souvenirs.

I loved the views of Port Hardy, but shopping in the Mall was not a great , the toilet situation was not a good experience, I would say a young person aprox 20 to 25 yrs old was in the toilet for about 1/2hr, scary as I think he was using drugs, There were several of us waiting to use the facility
