Although, we only stayed one night Lori and Brian were so welcoming we felt as if we were visiting longtime friends. Wonderful breakfast! Dog friendly! Everything you can ask for from a B&B.

For ending a long day exploring the southern parts of Nova...

For ending a long day exploring the southern parts of Nova Scotia, Shag Harbor is a perfect location, especially if you are taking the ferry the following morning from Yarmouth, NS to Bar Harbor, ME. It should take just less than an hour from Shag Harbor to the ferry, but plan to arrive one hour before the ferry departs. There is a little local history (folklore?) about a UFO sighting from Shag Harbor in 1967 and a location has been designated for telling that story. Also, you might want to make some time for nearby Cape Sable Island for laid back maritime charm and relaxed seafood eateries and take-out.
