I loved the hotel’s location—it was absolutely fascinating, situated right in front of the mountains with breathtaking views. The calm neighborhood made it a perfect spot for relaxation. The rooms were spotless, featuring amazing, neatly arranged furniture, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable.

This hotel was truly excellent. Communication was smooth and friendly right from the booking stage. The staff provided kind and clear assistance with every step, from check-in to check-out and luggage storage. The location of the hotel is perfect, needless to say! The room was also clean and comfortable. I would definitely love to stay here again next time I visit Grindelwald!

We loved this place! It was a little bit of a hike to and from the town but nothing crazy. We liked that it was slightly off the main strip because it was a bit quieter. You could always drive up and down but we found the walk just fine! The bed were COMFY. Bathroom and facilities were clean. We enjoyed that the had laundry we could use. There food was OUTSTANDING! and services was top notch. We felt right at home. The staff there was more than accommodating and even let us keep our luggage there after we checked out so we could spend a half day exploring still!

Alpine Resort and Large Glaciers

Grindelwald lies at more than 1000 metres above sea level, offering top-class ski slopes and an imposing Alpine landscape. It is located in the canton of Bern, in the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aletsch is the largest glacier to be found in the Alps.

Although evidence shows humans have been present in the region for thousands of years, the first long-lasting settlements date back to the Middle Age. For a long period, the destiny of the village was attached to the influence of the Interlaken Abbey, until the times of the Protestant Reformation.

Tourist activity begun in the 18th century, bringing new life and wealth to the village. During the second half of the 19th century, roads and railway lines were developed, allowing a constant influx of visitors. Grindelwald is definitely the most beautiful village in the...

Grindelwald is definitely the most beautiful village in the region for accommodation and everything else. It is large yet peaceful, and fun without being overcrowded. I would love to stay in Grindelwald again the next time I visit this area. Thanks to the Guest Card, you can travel very conveniently on the buses in Grindelwald.Don't leave here without trying the mountain coaster and zipline at First Cliff.

There is so much to see in the region and Grindewald being...

There is so much to see in the region and Grindewald being right at the heart of the alps provides a perfect base location. Our favourites were Jungfrau, Grindewald First and Schilthorn. We had the Swiss Travel Pass for the entire length of our stay in Switzerland and it provided good discounts. With hindsight, I think I would get the Jungfrau pass when in the Jungfrau region - it will probably pay for itself if you are going to do all the big peaks.

Great place. That was my third visit.

Great place. That was my third visit. The only issue for Bodmi station which was nearest to my apartment was that the last shuttle that come to this station from city was at 6:44pm after which you need to take expensive cab with senior citizens or hike uphill for a kilometer. If the bus will serve until 8pm that would be great.

Grindelwald was one of the highlights of our Switzerland trip. The village offers breathtaking views of the Eiger and surrounding Alps, with stunning scenery in every direction. It is an excellent base for exploring attractions such as First, Bachalpsee, Jungfraujoch, and the Lauterbrunnen Valley. The town is clean, well-organized, and has a good selection of restaurants, shops, and supermarkets. The public transport system is efficient and makes it easy to explore the region without a car. What we enjoyed most was the combination of dramatic mountain landscapes and the relaxed village atmosphere. Whether hiking, taking mountain railways, or simply enjoying the views, Grindelwald offers an unforgettable Swiss alpine experience. We would highly recommend spending at least 3–4 days here, as there is plenty to see and do, and the scenery alone makes it worth the visit.

Fantastic!

Fantastic! Did a lot of hiking around Grindlewlad and Lauterbrunnen. Went up to Murren which was fantastic! Did the Eiger Express to Jungfrau which should not be missed. Hope to come back again :)

It is a unique hotel located right next to the Gondola station to Grindelwald First. It has traditional Switzerland style interriors. The room was large and clean. Also the breakfast which is included in the fee was spectacular and people were very kind. You can also have lunch and dinner at Restaurant alte post in front of the hotel at a reasonable price.

This is an exquisite example of what hotels in Switzerland can offer. Wonderful amenities, wonderful furniture, wonderful view. All details were well taken care of! I appreciated in particular that the hotel is a bit out of the center of Grindelwald, which starts having the look and feel of an entertainment park.

This hotel was positioned perfectly: away from the crowds of grindelwald, but only less than 20 minutes away by bus from tge main station. The views were perfect and it sat right at the start of several hiking trails. The room was clean, well equipped and spacious and tge staff were friendly.

Breakfast was exceptional, a great way to start the day. Convenient location next to the bus 121 that goes directly to Grindelwald station. Hotel is very new and clean and has free laundry services too which was a great bonus.
