We loved our stay here! We booked a family room which had a double bed, bunk bed and private bathroom and it was perfect for 3 of us. We ended up staying another night in Salento and luckily were able to extend our stay at CTBH in the same room. Our room included breakfast which was nice and varied, a choice of either choc chip pancakes, French toast or scrambled eggs and toast - all came with fruit. The hostel is definitely on the more boutique end, as it is beautiful and spacious, but still offers social activities and arranges different tours like mountain bike riding and horseback riding. The 24 hour tea and coffee available is amazing, as is how clean the place is kept including communal bathrooms. Our room was cleaned during our stay and we loved the amenities provided in the bathroom. The two huge hostel dogs are also a major positive about this place! It is further out of Salento than other accommodations, but this means it is more peaceful and quiet, and it is only about a 10-15 minute walk to get to the main square, restaurants and supermarkets

The breakfast was delicious, the facilities were very good, and the staff were very attentive. It's just a few kilometers from Salento, offering a country feel with the convenience of buying anything you need from the city. Occasionally you hear cars, motorcycles, or horseback riding, but it's not bothersome.

What we appreciated most was how they handled any...

What we appreciated most was how they handled any shortcomings. The hotel is only about a 5-minute walk from the main square, and although they don't have on-site parking, they kindly arranged a space for us at a nearby parking lot. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Breakfast wasn't included in our stay, but the apartment had more than enough utensils and equipment to prepare a proper breakfast. They also have an agreement with Beta Town Restaurante, which offers a 10% discount on breakfast if you show your Villa Salento key. Overall, a great experience. The team does an excellent job of making sure guests have everything they need, and those thoughtful touches really made a difference.

Salento is a charming little town, although it has become VERY touristy. Many locals have had to relocate, but at the same time, people from different parts of Colombia and even from other countries have found opportunities here, contributing to the growth of tourism and helping visitors discover the nearby towns and activities around Salento. Travel tip: You don’t necessarily need to book a tour to experience more of Colombia’s Coffee Region, but it’s worth considering the different options available. Supporting local businesses helps the community, and these companies usually offer organized itineraries that are especially useful if you have limited time and want to maximize your experience. One of these companies is Rutas Cafeteras Tours.

Beautiful little town.

Beautiful little town. Everyone in the town was very helpful. The Mayor had big screen TV's placed around the square to watch world cup games. The restaurants were very nice. The shops had a lot of interesting products from the area

Salento like most small rural towns in Colombia. You have the opportunity to meet, greet and be greeted by the friendly welcoming local. The sighta and natural diversity are just amazing. Must take the winding ride to Valke de Cocora for an outstanding experience like no other.

Salento is a gorgeous and colourful town.

Salento is a gorgeous and colourful town. Vibrantly painted buildings and houses all throughout. The stores are all for tourists, selling Colombian and local crafts, gifts, art and coffee as well as the restauranteurs calling out for you to dine with them. They're loud and enthusiastic but won't persist or bother you if you keep walking by. Salento has so much character and the Cocora Valley (Valle de Cocora) is not far away and is truly so beautiful! It's amazing for a 12km hike through the mountains (not for the faint of heart) or mountain-bike riding or horse riding, or even a short walk to view the giant wax palm trees. Salento is a gem and I would go back again to stay two nights, rather than one. It would give me more time for another adventure or to visit a coffee farm. Highly recommend Salento!

I adored Salento.

I adored Salento. I felt so safe there, which was really relaxing as a solo female traveller. The buildings are all so pretty and the vibe is relaxed, happy and infectious. I really loved trekking the long cocoro loop, seeing the hummingbirds and climbing Morrogacho. Definitely go and learn how to play Tejo - it's ridiculously fun. I also had some great food here. Quattro Gatos is great for quasedillas & enchiladas, the cafe at the bottom of Cocoro Loop that specialises in trout on fried plantain is an absolute must. Coco Bowl is very good for vegan/veggie, although not cheap in Colombia terms. Had a great flat white at Kiki Kafe.

The view from the hotel balcony was incredible. A fantastic way to wake up and spend the late afternoon after a day's exploring. All the staff - from reception to catering staff at breakfast - were extremely helpful and helped me plan my few days in Salento. Their English was also far better than my Spanish....

I felt at home very quickly in this amazing hotel with fantastic view. Margarita and her partner are very friendly and helpful. Salento is a nice backpacker city close to many activities. This hotel is really a special place.
