The Romantic Hotel “Altenberger Hof” is wonderful hotel nestled within an enchanted valley. The hotel receptionist Mrs. Schlõssler was very friendly and accommodating! We were there at noon, hoping to check in early, as the rooms were not quite ready yet, we could sit at the lovely bar, enjoying a delicious cappuccino on the house while we waited for the rooms to get ready. It was a short and most pleasant wait. Facing the beautiful old church with very old, tall and beautiful stain glass windows and an atmosphere of old world charm, this hotel has comfort, style and an excellent restaurant! On a lovely day, sit outside and enjoy the views onto the church and the great old trees. Our rooms had gabled windows with marvelous views onto the Dom (church). A beautiful and comfortable room overall, with lovely antique furniture befitting the location and hotel. We are already looking forward to our next meal at the restaurant and our next stay at the hotel!

It is clean, quiet and comfortable. I'm often in Remscheid and this is my favorite place to stay. The staff is always helpful and friendly.

The hotel hotel is very clean and everything looks new. The room where we stayed was spacious and quiet. The beds were very comfortable. The showers are clean and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
