We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful family hotel with exceptionally friendly staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the family dog, which added a lovely touch to our stay. We booked a standard suite but got a sweet upgrade to the deluxe suite, and it was so comfy and gorgeous. You can tell they put thought into every little detail, and there was even a nice welcome note from the staff waiting for us on the table. The vegetarian food at the restaurant was amazing too! We loved our stay and will definitely remember this place.

Lots of free parking, gas station and 24 hour McDonald’s all together. The hotel itself is no frills but great price for what you get. Plenty of room in a family room with a pull out sofa for parents and twin 6 year olds. Had the modern convenience of being able to charge mobile phones next to beds. Also was clean.

Small room, but we felt very comfortable. It was very nice and quiet. Soundproofing was excellent. Very responsive and attentive staff. The location is good, close to Bergpark. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Free private parking on site. We always found a place for our car.

On the banks of the Fulda River in Germany’s Hessen region, Kassel had to be rebuilt after World War II, when most of the city’s architectural history was destroyed. I used to spend a lot of time in Kassel in my college years...

I used to spend a lot of time in Kassel in my college years and wanted to take my family there. Sadly, we saw a lot of homelessness and graffiti in the city. I wanted to return to Martin Lutherplatz and it was filled with homeless individuals around the gravesites and the church was not accessible. We felt unsafe in the city - not sure if staying in Wilhelmshöhe would have been better, but we would have been closer to the Bergpark there. Restaurants were good and Eckstein was our favorite discovery after spending time at the Grimmwelt. The history of Kassel and the beauty of the city were hard to appreciate when you don’t feel safe.

Nothing much here compared to other towns.

Nothing much here compared to other towns. Didn’t understand the Grimm Brothers museum and what it was trying to achieve. The Bergpark was good. Great for nature lovers. Three night maximum stay is sufficient.

It was easy to get around and see all the sights I wanted to see. Nice shopping area vehicle free with just trams running through it. Some nice old buildings. Lots of museums to look around, and the Grimm brothers history. Plenty of places to eat so caters for all tastes and budgets.

One the most beautiful cities I have ever been. This city is amazing with giant castles and forest. Very close to Kassel do not forget to visit SkyWalk in Willingen. a memory you will never forget :)

Attractive smaller city.

Attractive smaller city. It's almost unknown in Britain, but it has a five-year modern art festival called Documenta, which we had never heard of, lots of other attractions and green spaces - the Bergpark is a 'must' - and the people seem friendly. Then we spent our final day in ghastly Frankfurt, and wished we had stayed in Kassel.

The Weihnachsmarkt had a very nice atmosphere with good food and drinks. The city center has all the usual shops. Grimmwelt is a very extensive museum with a nice (but expensive) restaurant. The annoying thing about Kassel is that they close a lot of things during certain periods of time. This is the second time we went and the planetarium was closed on both occasions (March and December). The Marmorbad was also closed. In March a few of the museums were closed. If you want to go for a swim we recommend the Auebad. Mind, though, that the slides close in the evening (Kassel tradition, I guess?).

It is a family run hotel with an atmosphere and very friendly staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. A great advantage is the parking in the courtyard of the hotel. In terms of price/quality ratio it is a good offer. A cheap breakfast is available. And it's in a good location - close to the tram, which takes you to both the city centre and Wilhemshöhe Park.

It is a very good hotel, money for value, it is very simple, but confortable, clean, and in the beautiful part of Kassel, we looked through the window at a beautiful church, it was truly nice, not at all fancy, but all we needed.
