Hotel is well located in the city center. Unique thing about the hotel is it is actually in a Old Tower. The Surrounding area of the hotel, backside is also very relaxed and peaceful. I stay at the Dormero fairly often, just as a "staycation,"as I live nearby. It is SUCH a wonderful hotel, right in the heart of town, with great views from all the rooms I've ever stayed in. Great value, decor, amenities and many surprise extras. I highly recommend the Dormero!

Kelheim is a beautiful, picturesque town that truly feels...

Kelheim is a beautiful, picturesque town that truly feels like a hidden gem. It has a quiet, relaxed charm—perhaps even more so during the shoulder season—which made our stay especially enjoyable. The town itself is quaint and inviting, with great restaurants and a lovely atmosphere. It’s also an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. We particularly loved the proximity to incredible sites like the monastery—home to one of the oldest breweries in the world—as well as the nearby castles, which were absolutely stunning. We only wish we had more time to explore everything Kelheim has to offer. It’s a wonderful destination that combines natural beauty, history, and a peaceful setting.

The old town of Kelheim is a small town that's interesting for a long weekend if you like Germany and hiking. The hiking paths on the north side of the Danube are well-marked. The paths on the south side are not.

Kelheim is a cute town on the Danube river and very easy access to lots of walking/hiking or biking paths. Great location for day trips to other sites. and a stop for many of the river cruises we saw.
