The hotel was located right across from the Altenburg train station which meant that it was very easy to walk over to the hotel from the S5 with luggage. I had to book two rooms for my family of four, but the price was very, very affordable. Rooms were large and clean and the staff was very helpful and courteous. Although we didn't get to enjoy the bar, it was very cozy and well-apportioned. Really, the hotel exceeded my expectations. My only regret is that we only spent one night in Altenburg before moving on to Leipzig. I do plan on returning to Altenburg in the future and will definitely plan on staying at the Hotel Astor again.

We have travelled all 50 states and at least 12 countries abroad. This property was the cleanest and most pristine property any of us had stayed in before. My wife is a Physician and she said that there are few hospital environments as clean and well kept as this property. It is obvious what German Kraftmanship looks like when you see this property.
