My room was modern and very clean. The bathroom was a little tight but functional and clean. The hotel is in a very quiet location close to Meyer Werft. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good and there was ample parking at no extra cost.

The rooms are clean and the staff is amazing.

Room, cleanliness and breakfast

Staying at the Fortress was like living in a fairy tale. There were only 2 restaurants available but they had amazing food and service. Walking around and exploring the fortress was lovely. It was a good place to relax and take in the beautiful scenery. The rooms were very cute and sleeping in a box bed was a cool experience. Super comfortable.

Everything was super, the bar was replenished, everything was clean, the breakfast was also very good, tasty, I recommend it to everyone.

The location is good and close to the city center

It’s the old shipbuilding property. It was cool to see all of the history of the building and area. It was in a great location and was easy to walk to shops and restaurants.

Clean, attractive rooms, and in a nice location in town. The restaurant was delicious (we only had dinner, and so cannot vouch for breakfast), and the parking was convenient and free. There was a fair bit of construction going on at present, so it was a bit noisy in the morning, but I'm sure that is a temporary situation. This area of Papenburg is very charming and the staff was very friendly. The local is an easy 20-minute drive to the Bourtange Fortress, and if your timing is good, seeing a cruise ship being built at the Meyer-Werft shipyard is really cool.

The air conditioning works WELL! Good location and comfortable, clean room. Breakfast had a great selection and tasty.
