My family really like this small city, as for Chinese standard for defining city‘s scale, not only for the reason of Fan Zhendong being a player of Saarbrucken table tennis club in 2025-26 season, but also for the city itself.
It is easy for us to find a satisfied restaurant around railway station or in the area closed to Karstadt.
It is a little cold in the morning and evening but when you fall into sunshine in the noon, it makes you pleasure and comfortable.
We can find place to park, even in the very downtown of city.
Overall, the three-day stay in Saarbrucken is very impressive.

This is the capital of the Saarland area, so has all the amenities of a big town. It has a mainline railway station, and "big town" shops. The centre is pedestrianised, and the old town area of the town is very attractive, with lots of cafes and bars. Around the wider area, the museum of the old, and very large steelworks in Voelklingen is very interesting, and so is the Karlsberg brewery in Homburg and the underground caves there. The Saarschleife bend in the river is beautiful, and there is a high pathway from which to get a better view of the spectacular scene. The local town is Mettlach, and it's a small and pretty place. You can visit the Villeroy and Boch museum and factory outlet there, which are also worth a visit! Slightly further up the line is Trier, the oldest town in Germany, and it still has plenty of Roman architecture. It's also in the German Rhineland vineyard area, so well worth a visit! Cheers!

Saarbrücken is a quiet and green town with a relaxed atmosphere. People were friendly and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I really appreciated the balance between sightseeing and peaceful downtime — it felt just right and never overwhelming.

An interesting blend of old and new. For those interested in history, the main museum presented a thorough examination of the area’s complicated twentieth-century life when it was not always part of Germany.

I am being picky but you need more than 1 pillow on the double beds.
My room had a full height door / window that opened with only a waste height glass panel to stop you falling 5 floors. Ok for me but i would not want children to stay in a room like that.

I am a local, actually.
I am a local, actually. Living abroad reminds me every time how beautiful my city is and how much it has to offer! It's a shame that it is just a "pass through" for many travellers instead of (one of) their main destination/s. On the other hand, it therefore is still very authentic with it's german-franco vibe and also affordable as, so far, there is no mass tourism. I'd rather keep it that way!! 😀

The hotel is well located, has an own parking facility (not that big) and a big parking garage directly in front of the hotel and is walking distance to Saarbrucken Centre, Station, Kongresshalle, the river and much more.
We travel a lot, often for work, and were very satisfied with the hotel. It was quite new, well maintained and a special mentino goes to The staff was professional, kind and helpfull

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The swimming pool was a welcome surprise for a hotel of this type. The Breakfast was great, lots of choice. The stay was really good value for us. On this occasion we were not interested in seeing the city centre, so this was great for a relaxing stopover.
