Located along the Main River and a nice little green garden area . Truly wonderful and friendly staff from the owner and all other staff members. Made a great hotel stay even greater . Room was very nice - very clean and bright . There is no A/C but rooms all have fans if needed . Bathroom is clean and bright and as an extra dividend has a bathtub as well as a shower . Immediately off the bike trail along the Main River . Great secure indoor bicycle storage . Very short walk to the city center On site restaurant has many food options and reasonable price point. The breakfast was excellent with many hot and cold food options . This hotel is a wonderful place to spend a night or a week and we will return.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious! the couple at the front desk were very nice and helpful. we don't speak German and they were both very kind to us w/ our English language shortcomings. The same can be said for the restaurant staff. We appreciated it. Also - the bike garage was great. and the hotel is perfect for cyclists.

Great location, right next to the highway with lots of facilities next door to the hotel (petrol station, McDonald's etc.) Perfect for a night stop on a longer trip. The rooms are clean and well equipped.

My mother is from a lovely town near Karlsruhe.

My mother is from a lovely town near Karlsruhe. I visit German relatives about every 4 years. Mom's town has always been my favorite place in Germany. Now I wish she was from Wertheim, but please don't tell my relatives that I said so. Wertheim is gorgeous. Unfortunately, we only stayed 2 days. We will be back.

Wertheim is a lovely town on the Main River, close to the Spessart. Hikers and bikers would really enjoy this area, surrounded by many small towns and in proximity to larger cities, like Würzburg. Wertheim has at least one superb bakery, a few cafes and thankfully still one or two German restaurants!

Wertheim is nostalgic for me.

Wertheim is nostalgic for me. Walking up to the castle with my family, having Spaghetti ice at the Eis shop was fabulous. Pils beers on the front patio area of the hotel was delightful. Donor kababs for lunch sitting on a bench along the river overlooking the Spessart brewery was lovely. Strolling around town, shopping and stopping for treats along the way was also wonderful. The gnomes along the bridge railing added charm. The Schwan had their Ruhetag the night we stayed over, so eating at Zum Ross in Vockenrot was a highlight.The Schwan breakfast the next morning was typical German fruhstuck; soft boiled eggs, jogurt, meat and cheese plates, jams, brotchen and cereal was incredible. If you want an opportunity to detach, relax and enjoy simple pleasures with delicious food and take in amazing views, please visit Wertheim.

It is a beautiful historic city.

It is a beautiful historic city. The Shoppes are quaint The castle has a very regal view of this well preserved town. It is fun to explore and it has several very accommodating hotels. There is no shortage of good restaurants. Residents are very welcoming and Murchants are attempting to assist however they can. It is a great city to visit Buy car, boat, or bicycle. If there is one negative, it is the limited parking.

I was there for just one (complete) day over the Easter...

I was there for just one (complete) day over the Easter holiday. It is a very nice small German village off the beaten track (i.e. Autobahn), but which is very close by. It is on the confluence of the Rivers Main and Tauber. The old Castle (Burgt) is worthwhile a visit.

Everything about Evi's Cottage is exceptional. The location is easily walkable into the main square of town. The room was beautiful and provided lovely views of Burg Wertheim. The absolute best part of the stay was the host herself; Evi is one of the most kind and caring ladies I have come across during my travels.

Located just outside Wertheim on a main road, this was a good location for us travelling on motorcycles. Secure garage parking. Friendly staff, easy check in. Good evening meal and breakfast with lovely warm soft boiled eggs and good coffee. Room was OK as there was a bit of road noise.

The receptionist on 21st of June. She was so lovely and helpful. It was raining when we left, but thinking of her outstanding service and her big en beautiful smile made our day. She is really the plus for this hotel. I hope her bosses appreciate that about her because she deserves it.
