The location was fantastic and the owners were very helpful even greeted us with cold beer! We enjoyed the view out of the small balcony and the beds were very comfortable. The bar was closed that day so the whole place was silent. We loved our stay.

We visited Biar in winter with our dog.

We visited Biar in winter with our dog. The 2 bars that we visited were dog friendly. All of the locals that we spoke to were very happy to see tourists in the village. The food in the Cafeteria el Raval de Pepin was excellent. Its a great place to explore the immediate area around Biar.

Biar is extremely hilly so if you have trouble getting about...

Biar is extremely hilly so if you have trouble getting about it's not for you. Having said that there are plenty of seats/benches around which we took advantage of especially on the climb back from dinner each evening. Restaurants are limited as most only open Friday to Sunday night but if you like tapas there are a few bars and the food was excellent. The supermarkets were lovely, everything fresh and one in particular was like an old fashioned store with individual counters for bread, meat, cheese and veg. The prices were amazing compared the UK. As it isn't touristy it tested our Spanish, I think you would struggle if you didn't have at least the basics of the language. We were glad we didn't have a car as the roads seemed to be a bit tricky and quite narrow in places, one day there was a festival honouring transport and we were told the locals all drive the wrong way around the town!! The castle and museum were worth a visit and only 1 euro each to enter.

Biar is a place for fit people: places of interest and the...

Biar is a place for fit people: places of interest and the Castle are situated on different levels of the mountain, so all the time you walk either up or down most of the time along staircases in beautiful streets. Lunch at "La Fasana" on Plaza de La Constitucion was excellent. Hiking around Biar is extraordinary!

What a beautiful Spanish old town lovely narrow cobbled streets feel in love Kept clean and very friendly We eat at a bar in the main square by the church and tapas in another square both very good and value for money It is hilly but you can wonder slowly around so not too bad

Fabulous property near Biar castle. Parking was available in the castle car park which is only about 100m walk from the front door. The host met us at the house and even though there was a language barrier, we managed fine with google translate! The property was clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious, everything you would want for a few days away. Some nice bars and restaurants in Biar, which was a cute little town, but some aren't open at the beginning of the week. Thankfully the supermarket was!

Charming hotel, right middle in the centre of Biar, overlooking the central square, at the foot of the castle. Warm, welcoming staff, obliging to any question. We had a great, spacious room, with a sitting corner, and a beautiful outdoor terrace, out of the heavy wind. The surroundings are great for walking, cycling and tasting a glass of wine. The food in its restaurant is also really good and refined. We enjoyed our stay a lot, and if possible would have stayed more days. Very recommendable.

There was no breakfast because no staff! The hotel was closed and had been for a long time. The room was awful, the pool filthy, nothing to eat. We left. Why did booking.com not know the hotel was closed? This is the third time I have suffered under your website. I will not use booking.com again. We had nothing to eat and spent hours trying to find the hotel.
