ItalyGreat location with supermarket next door, restaurants all around. The apartment was tastefully decorated with attention to detail and well equipped. Shampoo, conditioner and hair drier, in addition to all the basics. The host even had plasters and supplies for sore feet!
Rosa was super welcoming and communicative, she gave us recommendations and helped us get acquainted with the town showing the main sites on a map.
Finding cold water in the fridge and sweets on the table was a nice treat!

A very lovely small town that has everything you need, with...
A very lovely small town that has everything you need, with all amenities close by. It features a well-preserved historic center centered around a beautiful church. There are several thermal baths with natural springs bubbling up right in the town, including a former outdoor communal laundry pool filled with thermal water where you can soak and rest your feet. Additionally, there are plenty of cafes and bakeries perfect for breakfast and coffee, alongside numerous high-quality restaurants. A scenic river flows through the town, offering fantastic views from the bridge. The town also boasts a beautifully organized botanical garden and a free public swimming pool.

This was a hostel so it was just a basic Alburgue, so not much to say for the majority of visitors. But the town was fabulous. I visited many towns on the Camino and this and Caminha in Portugal were my favourites

This is a great place to stay on the Camino Portuguese.
This is a great place to stay on the Camino Portuguese. We had such a comfortable room and the atmosphere is wonderful, historical, and very European. The staff was great, especially Alejandro! The breakfast was the best at any place we stayed on the Camino. We also had wine and cake that we took to our room. The room was so lovely and there was a large (almost) soaking tub in our room that was very clean and amazing after a chilly February hiking day on the Camino.

The lodging is very new and quite easy to stay in.
The lodging is very new and quite easy to stay in. The beds were comfortable, it was a safe area. The kitchen was decent, the air conditioning worked well (important during this stay as it was hot in CdR). It seemed to be quiet so getting a good nights rest was easy. There are dining amenities very close and there is also a produce market if you are inclined to make your own food! The wifi was a little dodgy at times.
We used the washing machine and the clothes drying rack which made our stay there very productive.

A great place to stay for the Camino.
A great place to stay for the Camino. Very helpful locals good restaurants and supermarkets the girl in the information bureau was so helpful when I asked if she could call speak in Spanish to the host of our apartment when we could not get the link to work so helpful. would visit again as Caldes de Reis had a good vibe

There was a good street market when we arrived around...
There was a good street market when we arrived around lunchtime.
It was really difficult to find a place that would serve a meal in the early evening. Finally, we found Bar La Catedral Del Sabor, very near our hotel. The owners are lovely and we had a good meal there. They have a stamp for the Camino passport also.
The bridge on the Camino, as it leaves Caldas da Reis, is very picturesque.

A comfortable hostel room for four with plenty of towels and a pristine bathroom, even though it was shared with other rooms of the floor. The host helped us a lot and gave in Spanish by the phone immediately. Beds were very cozy. There famous public hot springs of Caldas de Reis are just around the corner. The only minor drawback was rather thin walls and some level of noise from the outside. However, highly recommend this place for pilgrims who want to enjoy an advanced level of comfort for a very moderate price.

For 100% the best choice we could have made during our stay in Caldas de Reis.
This small hotel is such a lovely place. Beautiful design with wood and stone, everything so clean and the nicest staff ever.
My special thanks to Andrea at reception. She can organize everything and has such a good energy.

Fernando was very welcoming and showed us around his lovely hotel. The garden and swimming pool were amazing and there was coffee available as well as an honesty box for wine and beers. The bedroom was small but well equipped and the air conditioning was very good. We had a lovely stay.

The room was modern, clean, light and airy. Lovely fragrance in the room. Very comfortable beds. We were a bit worried to see the hotel located over a Disco but fortunately it had closed down years ago.
